Did you apply online? When you say you have since discovered they pre-tick, can I ask how you know? The reason being many of us suspect that but it would be great to have real evidence to back up the claims. Thanks!

unfortunately no proof - just what I have read on here. I did ask them before though for the paperwork showing I had requested the PPI - their excuse as to why they couldnt was when I cancelled it, it was removed from the system... cheeky so-and-so's! if they use this excuse again I am going to tell them if they dont have a signature for it then it was never requested and therefore def owe me money back!!!!

  • Hi a question really and an answer to yours, I had sucessful claim with lloyds early on this year but with complete evidence as my copy of ppi check list not ticked or completed in full yet their copy was!!!!! I was a bit shocked to say the least especially as they rejected my claim in the 1st instance. My question is ok I was mis sold the insurance and that was refunded, but do I have a claim as paperwork obviously completed in my absense ( is this not fraud)???? any advise appreciated. this site is fab and thanks to all the advise :)
  • What were you reclaiming: Personal Loan PPI
    Who was the provider: HSBC
How much did you get back: 5978.63 inc 1025.31 interest
Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: 1st Letter
And then write your brief reclaim tale
PPI of 7669.58 (inc. interest at 8.9%) taken out 5 years ago on a loan of 17200.

This repayment will certainly help my finances!

    Thank you.
  • I have today received a letter from the financial ombudsman upholding my claim against Barclaycard.

I first wrote to barclays in April 2008. Got told I couldn't claim as it was time statute barred. The ppi was added in january 2002 and I had left it too late by 3 months.

Wrote to Ombudsman and honestly thought they must have lost it or something as everytime i e-mailed them I got fobbed off.

So a nice suprise this morning. My claim was for about £800 but with the interest and everything they have to pay should work out at just over £1000.

Really happy as I paid the balance off with the charges payout so that money will be all mine then I can close the account completely. I can now almost see that new bathroom I want lol
