  • I got £731 back off Egg credit card for PPI paid over several years. I sent a letter (using the MoneySaving template) late on the Friday and by the following Saturday I had a letter saying they'll refund the lot and 8% interest (totalling £731) within three to 10 working days. Checked my statement and it'd already cleared. Definitely worth doing!

Well after 16 long drawn out months, I finally have the Ombudsman's final decision and they found in my favour against Nemo!!

I dont have the figures yet as only got the letter from FOS today but I think it will be in the region of £5500.

    Whoo hoo! :T:T:T:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Fantastic, very pleased to hear this Well done and Congratulations.

I also won a claim against Nemo as well, over a year ago, which was resolved through the FOS.
    So pleased for you.:T

:TOkay came home and found a letter on the floor.. ohh I thought maybe its from argos and guess what it was  wonder what it says i hear you all saying ....

Dear Mrs We don't care who you are (edited for t'internet purpses)

Tar for your enquiry regarding coversafe...

I can confirm that coversafe was enrolled on your accont :pon 29th March 2009 ( this should be 2003 I thinks  they cant even get that right) upon acceptance when you applied for the card , I am unable to retreive the application form present to confirm your acceptance  therefore I have refunded the premiums applied to your account since enrollement.... this equates to ( wait for it wait for it ) £165.12 plus interest of £13.20 ...

Then it waffles on saying they will credit my argos account.. I dont thinks so matey flip. So just phoned em and demanded cash .. lol I was a bit secepical so accepted a cheque.. Out in the post today .. Hopefully get it before next week so i can pay it in...

So i think .. one more success for Mrs Dizzybuff ....:T:T:T:T

    Not a problem Gill.;)

I think they should still have the details myself, basically down to the fact that you taken out a new loan to take another, they should I believe hold the details.
You could contact the Information commissioners office (ICO) for their advice on this if you want to, tell them why you require this, they should be able to guide you in the right direction in regards of your data, here:
    https://www.ico.gov.uk/Global/contact_us.aspx

And just as long as you still have the account numbers, I can't see no harm in trying to have a go at reclaiming on it, give it a shot and see what they come back with lol, if they come back with info on it then in my opinion this proves they still hold data on that account, and they may even surprise you with a copy of the agreement as well lol, I bet this have been known to happen.

Another way to try to retrive the account numbers maybe Equifax, or Experian, may hold these details, just a thought but normally for £2 they will send you a report, where all the details of your credit should be applied on them, as they defo hold the info for 6 years.
Google them in and you should find them online, good luck.;)

Hi! Just thought I'd update you. I phoned the ICO today. They were unsure how long the bank holds records of settled accounts for, so they said to phone CCA. Also did this, they were also unsure!! They told me to phone FOS. I did this & spoke to a very helpful lady who basically told me that the timescale can vary, though it used to be 6 years she also said they probably don't send every single detail, mostly just copies of what you have already been given! She enquired why I wanted it & I explained it was to reclaim mis sold ppi. She also said it didn't matter if I didn't have a copy of the agreement all I need is the account no & she offered to take the case on( giving me a ref no) if I can get the account no! Trouble is I have tried everything, going to bank, checking statements & writing, Experian & Equifax & still no joy:eek: . Think this one is a no no!! I have the date the loan started and the date it finished. Its just so annoying.

Anyway I did learn that the FOS would do a reclaim right from start to finish, so maybe anyone out there that is not sure of trying to do their reclaim themselves would be better going through the FOS rather than going through one of those AWFUL Companies who take HUGE FEES:mad:

I will keep you all posted. ps.:o I just realised that I'm on success & failures and not discussions, Sorry for this, I will continue in discussions if I get any update!!. Gill

What were you reclaiming: Credit card PPI
    Who was the provider: Egg
How much did you get back: 1047
Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: 1st Letter
And then write your brief reclaim tale

I used the same tactics as I used to recliam the Egg loan PPI refund money(Experian.co.uk to get date the agreement started) I sent them DOB, Address and Start date and I got the money back I received a cheque for 1047 pounds for Credit Card PPI with Egg:j Sent 1st template letter on 13 July 09 and received cheque on August 10th 2009!!!

Thats now the best part of 4,500 pounds back from Egg with 10 more letters sent (Lloyds TSB, MBNA, Black Horse, Sygma Bank, Northern rock, Mint) I am coming after your money or should I say mine!!!!
