PPI Reclaiming successes and failures

:money:I've done it well almost!! Welcome finance have "as a good will gesture" refunded me my PPI costs from 2 out of 5 loans I have had with them. I have been advised that first one is a no go becuase it was pre-fsa regulated and the other 2 were via a broker. So to cut story short I am waiting on a cheque for £3500 direct from welcome. Have sent new letters of complaint to the brokers and have contacted the FSA regarding the first loan!!

First of all i would like to thank moneysavingexpert, this site has totally changed my life.
I will be 31 next month and have been in debt through all of my 20s even using debt management company's. I had £17000 worth of debt and now im down to my last £3000. The site has given me great tips, tips that I have been proud to tell friends. about.
But today has topped everything, im sat with a letter from Liverpool Victoria, using the PPI claim letter ....only the first 1 they have offered me a refund of £1036.15 this breaks down to £695.40 refund and a nice £340.75 compensation payment.
As soon as the check clears my debt will be down to £2000...debt clear for 2010 the plan....i should imagine i shall celebrate with my girlfriend at pizza express of coarse it will be with a printed voucher!!
Thanks Martin0 -

Hi All,
Just thought I would let you know that I have won £4300 from Lloyds TSB today, which is sitting nicely in my savings account now.
10k loan taken out in 2002 over 60 months PPI was £2203, Compensation was £200 and interest was the rest.
Don't know how they calculated £4300 I was shocked, I expected between £2500 and 3k. I am not grumbling tho.
Just wanted to say thank you to the Martin and the people who have helped me on hear.
Thank you.
Loftty0
