Got a letter through this morning after submitting a PPI complaint letter to Egg Banking PLC about a week ago. They have looked into my case and are refunding the full amount in PPI that I paid out plus the interest I asked for, total cheque to be sent to me £2652.11. Brilliant! I am a self employed person and this is after sending only one letter of complaint. Awesome!

    Fantastic Tj

    Congratulations and well done.

  • I have been reclaiming for a friend who is in financial hardship. I have claimed a missold PPI from a Halifax credit card using the template letters from the site. 2 days ago he had a letter saying they would pay back the money including interest and the 8%. Today he had a letter saying the amount to be refunded was £2153.00. BUT they are going to pay off his credit card with the amount, he owes £4000 but is not over his limit on the card and currently has a token payment agreement . He also owes money on another card, to the tax man and is struggling to keep his business running. Although it's a great result, he is gradually clearing up his debts and the money would have been useful to clear up the urgent debt. Not sure if this is allowed and haven't been able to post on the forum

Hello, welcome and well done to your friend and also to you for helping him through this.:T:beer::T

I am aware if there are outstanding arrears they are able to do this, but if there is some sort of set arrangement put into place, maybe he could argue on this due to his financial hardship.
Is your friend with a debt help organisation, such as CCCS, nationaldebtline, or payplan etc?
Maybe he could have a word with them on this as well to see what they think is best here.

You can always post about this matter on the above Debtwannabe thread here:

There are many in the same situation that may be able to help and advise on that thread, good luck.;)

    ~Hi there ;)

As far as I know yes you can, if mis sold for any reasons then go for it.

You will find useful information and templates with a checklist on the link below, they have 8 weeks in full to respond, keep at them until your successful or until they issue you with the final response, which should also include if eligible the details of the financial ombudsman service (FOS), you can take your complaint to them if your not happy with the outcome.
Post as well by recorded delivery, this is your proof of posting and do not worry about writing down the amounts at this time, good luck and please keep us posted.
