Hello.
Sorry if I've posted this in the wrong place. I was wondering if you request your PPI to be cancelled, does the provider have to do this? My OH has a virgin card which is MBNA and he phoned them to ask them to cancel the PPI. They said no they wouldn''t cancel it but they would reduce it. He's currently paying £17 a month x0 -

Hello there,
I would request they cancel in writing, they should do this when asked to, but if you still have the terms and conds of the policy check them as well.
There are many on here who have Credit Cards with MBNA, so hopefully they will see your post and post up with some advice for you.
But as far as I know they should cancel on request.
Was the PPI mis sold do you know?
Check this link here below for more information and if this accurs to your hubby, it may be worth your while trying to reclaim on this, even if they have offered by just reducing this for now.

Hello - thank you for answering so quickly
I'm not sure whether we have been mis-sold or not - I'll speak to my DH when he comes back from work tonight. It was sooo long ago I don't even remember when we got the card! Feels as though we've been paying it off for years tho lol x

Another success story,
I was sorting out some old paper work and came across this egg-loan I took out in 2004 and repayed in 2007. I nearly shredded it, but thought to better check it in case I payed PPI on it. Sure enough I payed over £2500. I downloaded the template here, modified it to my circimstances and posted it. Within 1 week I had a reply that my case is been forwarded to their special department. A few days later I received another letter stating that I will receive a cheque for the full amount of the PPI that I payed incl. interest.
What a result.
Thank you Martin for this wonderful website :T0 -
What were you reclaiming: PPI
Who was the provider: Virgin credit Card (MBNA)
How much did you get back: Over £2000
Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: Went to financial Ombudsman, took about 6 months altogether.
Thank you for the template letters martin - made it all so easy!!! :money:
Wasn't actually for me (i'd never pay PPI), but for my mother-in-law - who didnt even know what it was, or that she was even paying it!! She could have actually claimed more than once, but was completely clueless!
MISOLD BIGTIME! IMHO

Firstly a big thank you Martin Lewis, without this site i wouldn't have had a clue of how to reclaim......
I am overly excited as in the last 5 days i've had money returned from PPI Insurance and Barclays for unfair charges....
HFC bank have reduced my loan by £1138.00 for mis sold PPI and it only took 1 letter which i sent 16th Aug...so really quick to pay up!!!
The PPI was £1103 so they paid out just over.....
