Morning di, how's tricks? Got my breakdown from firstplus with the final settlement amount on it. It tallied up except for the fact that I paid £249 more to settle the loan than the figure they sent me in the breakdown????????? So I had to pay for their solicitor to calculate my settlement figure only for it to be £249 more than the figure they just sent me! I sent them a letter telling them that if they increase the refund offer by the £249 then I would accept it without prejudice and upon receiving a cheque for that amount I would cease any further action. They should have received it yesterday so I am hoping for a response, or dare I say a cheque from them this week!0

I have a loan with Egg which I took out back in 2006 over the phone. The representative implied that I had to take out PPI in order to get the loan. Thanks to Martin's advice on his website I realiased that I have a good claim to get the money back. I used his template letter and sent it 1 month ago.
Yesterday I received a letter confirming that they are returning £4500!!
I'd like to thank Martin for his great website and template letters, and everyone on this forum for their encouraging stories and advice.
Now on to claim against unfair bank charges..... ... wish me luck!0 -

Another success story,
I was sorting out some old paper work and came across this egg-loan I took out in 2004 and repayed in 2007. I nearly shredded it, but thought to better check it in case I payed PPI on it. Sure enough I payed over £2500. I downloaded the template here, modified it to my circimstances and posted it. Within 1 week I had a reply that my case is been forwarded to their special department. A few days later I received another letter stating that I will receive a cheque for the full amount of the PPI that I payed incl. interest.
What a result.
Thank you Martin for this wonderful website :T
Hello, welcome and Congratulations.

Firstly I would like to say hi, I've been floating around the site for some time now and have put a claim in against Lloyds for miss selling of PPI.
I wrote to Lloyds back in March and I have received all the standard letters that Lloyds seem to send. One of these letter said I could cancel my insurance and if I wished, to do so I should go into my local branch.
This is where I lost my rag with Lloyds, on going into my local branch which was the same branch I took my loan out at back in 2006 they tried to get me to have a meeting with the member of staff who missold me the policy when I took my loan out.
So I went home and found the Chief Executives email address and sent him a 2 page letter about my conserns, my treatment within the branch and about Lloyds just trying to fob me off with the PPI complaint.
Well within days of sending that email I received a letter from the manager of the insurance customer services department saying she would be investigating my complaint. 9 days after that letter I have received another letter from Lloyds, although they do not feel they missold the policy they will refund me everything out of goodwill!
The offer was £3262.88.
I have taken this as it very nearly enough to pay my loan off.0 -

Hi,
I have just claimed back PPI from MBNA on my credit card and after 8 weeks and a couple of letters from them saying 'apologies for the delay we are looking into your claim...'. I have received my PPi back £2800ish which they have credited to my card and reduced my balance.
My question is what is the legal standpoint with regards to the refund. (I would have preferred a cheque) Am I entitled to ask for this?
thanks0 -
Hi,
Congratulations on your success, can I just ask on your PPI claim against MBNA credit card, do you know when your agreement started with them? Only I am trying to claim but have been advised they were not covered by regulations!! (this was 1997)
Many thanks0
