  • Claimed and got back full amount, £800 plus 8% from, Hell Sadistic Bank China, last month. I have to say as a footnote, that there customer service and general approach to any banking matter over the phone is absolutely appalling and have never had the dubious honour of having anywhere near the verbal violence, distress and social-psychopathic approach to any living being in my entire life.

GET OUT OF THAT BANK ASAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

    Hi there,
If I were you I would definately try to find out more on this if you can, you do need a full detailed written breakdown as well, so also request for this, good luck.;)

Thanks DI the form was signed and away I worked out that we only paid the premiums on the loan for 7 months and it was £35 odds so if you calcualted that it is no where near £886 pounds so I think they have given me alot more than I thought.

Will see what happens when they get the acceptance form.

Also sent my initial first letters to BOS and Direct Line so waiting to see what happens with them.

Also sent the FP stuff to the FOS.

And lastly sent letter to GE Money re 2 car loans I previously had in 2005 and 2006 respectively as not 100% sure I had PPI with them so waiting in anticipation for a reply.

Am so happy I seem to be getting somewhere with BH but still waiting on a reply from Welscum but they do say all good things come to those who wait - but they didnt say how long the wait was lol

I am also a big footie fan up here in sunny Scotland or should I say rainy scotland and my team are Glasgow Rangers. Had a season ticket up til this season as dh wasnt wanting to go back and son is too little.

Oh the joys they seem to be winning tho and have topped the Scottish League albeit on goal difference just now so going well, x

  • What were you reclaiming: PPI on MBNA Credit Card
    Who was the provider: MBNA
How much did you get back: £2,774.11 + £125.90 (Interest)
Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: 2 Letters (about 3 months though)

    Hi All,

Mixed news from MBNA today, good news is that as a "Gesture of Goodwill" they are repaying all PPI premiums and associated interest charged to my account that I have had for the past 9 years - Great!

The problem is I am sure they are trying to cheat me on the interest side, can anyone confirm what I can claim on the interest? I have claimed on credit card charges before and it was 8% compound per year, which I thought would be the same with this. As you can imagine I have had the card for 9 years with always a healthy balance on £4k+ and my thoughts were that the interest would total more than £125.90?

Is there a link on the site anyone knows of that can help calculate the interest owed on PPI payments ?

    Any help is appreciated!

    Keep up the good work!

    Mark

If you were to take this to the fos they would work it out like this:

    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1596473

This way you not only get the 8% INTEREST but also the interest they charged you on that amount each month.
