Hi pinknico,
Thanks for the reply, so if I got to the FOS I can claim interest back on the interest charged on the PPI?
Also with regards to the 8% Interest, should this be calculated in a similar fashion to the credit card link below? If so it means they are not giving me nowhere near enough!

Hi Mark
The 8% interest is what normally a court would award as well, for more information on how the FOS calculates refunds, you should find this useful here, Maxdp posted this in another thread here:

Good luck with this.;)

Yesterday I received notification that I am to be granted compensation of £1637.00. This to me at present is a fantastic amount so thank you thank you and again thank you. To anyone reading this article which I hope you do, even if you have repaid a loan still claim, my loan finishe in 2007 and in August 2009 I wil be receiving the compensation.0

What were you reclaiming: PPI on MBNA Credit Card
Who was the provider: MBNA
How much did you get back: £2,774.11 + £125.90 (Interest)
Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: 2 Letters (about 3 months though)
Hi All,
Mixed news from MBNA today, good news is that as a "Gesture of Goodwill" they are repaying all PPI premiums and associated interest charged to my account that I have had for the past 9 years - Great!
The problem is I am sure they are trying to cheat me on the interest side, can anyone confirm what I can claim on the interest? I have claimed on credit card charges before and it was 8% compound per year, which I thought would be the same with this. As you can imagine I have had the card for 9 years with always a healthy balance on £4k+ and my thoughts were that the interest would total more than £125.90?
Is there a link on the site anyone knows of that can help calculate the interest owed on PPI payments ?
Any help is appreciated!
Keep up the good work!
Mark
