    Hello there, ;)
Give them another fortnight, as they are entitled to 8 weeks, then if you hear nothing, I agree to take this to the FOS.

In regards of cancelling, if you want to cancel, I would personally put this into writing as well, it is up to you, remember though as the cooling period have passed your repayments may not lower that much, you can always try asking what your repayments would be without.

    Good luck.

Blimey that is a lot for £113 a month for PPI alone !!!

As this was added to the loan as a single premium, on cancelling some expect you to take out a new loan without PPI to pay off the existing loan, I would check your terms and conds as well.

    Hi

I have just received an offer from Aliance & Leicester offering a full refund plus 8% interest of £820 for mis-selling of PPI on my loan which I have accepted.

I am going to try and reclaim the PPI from my Nationwide CC next and also bank charges from Barclays.

RobDogg - Would you mind me asking how long it took you and which steps you've had to follow? i'm trying to claim from all&leic but i've only sent my 1st letter off 2 weeks ago.

    Thanks,
    Megan

Tried to claim on my PPI when I had to give up work to look after DH, after taking Martins advice I claimed it all back, just been offered 750 ( got no pound sign on here lol) but after reading this Im going to hold out for more. And theres another lot they havent made an offer on yet. Omg I may be able to keep the wolves at bay after all!

  • I used Brunel Franklin to handle my PPI claim against the Halifax.
    Original Loan £8000
    PPI £3195
cost of PPI with interest £4593

Today Halifax cancelled this loan and issued a new loan for £6000 without insurance ( I had been paying the original loan for 2 years ). They also credited my account with £1500 compensation:beer:.
I now have to pay 25% of this compensation to Brunel, which I knew I had to do and was prepared for. Unfortunately brunel also want 25% of a £1600 figure that they say i will save over the course of the loan.
This equates to £900 including the VAT.
I think they should make this plain in their paperwork, for instance, if I had used Brunel a couple of months into the loan then I would have recieved £100 or so compensation from the halifax but would still have had to pay Brunel £900.
Do not use a company to handle youre claim!

hi there, with a front loaded ppi you need to go down the mis sell route, if you cancel ,and that will be your decision you only get a small portion back as a rebate and your loan will most likely increase, if you win mis sell you will get all ppi paid to date back to you plus 8% interest, and they will have to put your loan back to the position it was without the ppi, so you will be £113 better off for a start, good luck with this and keep us posted

Good for you......:T, glad your going back to them on this, if they do not offer you a more reasonable amount, even though I would also go for the whole lot and the interest, you always have the FOS.
    Wishing you luck.;)
