    the letter states
i have concluded that the policy may not have been approprite an i am therefore upholding your complaint.
    does this help?

I think this would mean that they have ruled in your favour, going by what they have confirmed.;)

  • I sent 1 letter to Lloyds TSB who eventually sent me a letter back offering me a 'goodwill' payment. Although I was surprised to get an offer, it was only a third of the original premium I paid for. Now sending letter to ombudsman to try and get more as replying to TSB again resulted in a "we're not budging on the offer" letter. Offering me the money on the first go means that they must admit they are in the wrong.
Please write if anyone else has been successful with FOS in similar circumstances.

    Hi there & welcome, ;)
Was this the final decision that Lloyds TSB provided to you?

If not if you wanted to, you could still hold them responsible, for mis selling and request that they refund you the whole of the PPI and the interest.
That is the thing with offers of goodwill, they tend to be low, this way they try to get out of it, but on another note, I was finally successful through the FOS in the end, in regards of a Credit Card PPI reclaim, that was sold to me while I was a houseperson in 2001.

If not you could ask Lloyds to offer you a more reasonable amount in order for you to consider.

But again if that was the final decision, you have made a wise move to the FOS, good luck with this, please keep us posted, cheers.;)

Anyway just received a letter stating that they were going to be paying me back £544.38 including £78.38 interest!!!

I did a letter using the template for my wife around two weeks ago, who had a Nationwide loan before I met her, and which she still has now. Having read how others had been successful I thought it was worth a stab in the dark.

Yesterday, a letter arrived offering to repay just under £1100 plus 8% interest, so just under £1200 will be winging its way to my Mrs some time soon.

She is well happy with me, but it wouldn't have happened without the boss man, Martin Lewis.

I hope others will make the effort because it is most certainly worth it.

  • Having read all media interest and then the Martin Lewis website, made a claim for the refund of PPI when I discovered that I was paying £104 a month on top of my loan committment. The 84 month PPI would have added £9000 to my loan had I not made a claim. It is to be repaid but I am still waiting for the money to be credited to my account!! They tell me within 28 days. I am just holding my breath!! Thank you Martin it has certainly eased the pressure on an OAP's bank account as my monthly DD has decreased by £100 as well as getting the refund as a lump sum.
