Egg refunded my PPI after 1 letter. The original loan amount was £25K, with the PPI was nearly £33K. I got £10,260 refunded and taken off the remaining balance of the loan, plus this has also reduced by monthly payments by a whopping £270.
I used one of the templates provided on this site - Thank you very much!
One point to note however - I was in posession of the original loan paperwork that I signed in 2005, and I am certain that my full and unchallenged refund is because I had evidence to support my claim - that their original paperwork wording was misleading and did not give information that the PPI was optional. I suppose it also helped to quote their £750K in fines from the FSA :)
Anyhow, thanks MSE for making it happen.

I got this back from a loan taken out. I fell in arrears and was sorting out help when a friend told me that I should not have had the PPI and the bank should not have sold it to me and told me about this site. I went for it, with a little help from the forum site, to which I am so grateful!!!! The template pages were so easy to do. You have to keep on, but be patient, it comes to you in the end!!!!
    Thankyou so much to MoneySavingExpert!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:D:D:D

Hello everyone, i've been stalking this forum for a few months now and taking in all the advice! Thanks to everyone on here and especially Martin, I have been told that Lloyds TSB will be refunding the PPI on all of my previous 4 loans. I have waited the 12 weeks for them to calculate everything they owe me, however they keep fobbing me off. Apparently, because there are multiple loans involved, they have had to build a new calculator and it is still waiting to be signed off. Has anyone else had this? Surely I can't be the first person that Lloyds have paid out with multiple loans?

Hi Charlie5110, Egg have been doing the same to me, whats all this about having to build calculators, what are computers? Been on to FOS over a week ago no reply from them, just seem to be passed from pillar to post, been nearly 2 years from the start of this losing patience now.

i received a letter from halifax saying they were upholding my claim for four loans i have had with them. they state that if i am in arrears they will deduct the sum from the payment they will make to me, this is fine as i have no arrears but do still have a current loan with them. question is that will they pay me back the full amount or take it off my loan? i am not in arrears so as there letter states they should pay me it in full this is the way i read it. i could do with the cash so if they do take it off my loan can i go to the fo

    Hi joe_soap
That is great news them upholding this on the four loans, Well done.

I would take this as if you have arrears only that they will deduct from the sum, but I would double check on this as every bank vary from one to another, give them a ring to double check, tell them you want to know where you stand as there are no arrears outstanding and personally as they have upheld in your favour, I take this that they are admitting liability to have mis sold all the PPI on the four loans, so where you should have your say in how you want this repaid, if no arrears.

If this was a offer of goodwill it may be a different matter, such as they may deduct towards the loans etc.

    Good luck with this.;)
