  • Used this site's template to ask The Halifax to repay the PPI on my loan, started in 2005 for £25,000 and they have written to me to say they will repay me £5,845.24 PPI, pay off the rest of the loan £4,162.88 and send me the difference of £1,682.36. No hassle, they didn't argue, just sent them the template letter saying that they had not asked about previous medical history. Fab! Really pleased. :j

    Loans - July 03, June 04, Dec 04 and Dec 05
    Co-Operative Bank
    Refund of £3,976.51
Got the offer after sending off only one letter

I sent off my letter on 22 May 09 to the Co-op Bank after I realised that I had paid PPI on part of my loans (I had about 4 over 2 years totalling £16k) I only paid PPI over the first year and then decided that I could not afford it.

After my initial letter, I received a couple of letters back from the Co-Op saying that they were looking into it and that they would get back to me.

On 10 Aug 09, I got my offer letter through.

I still have an outstanding loan but this offer will be taken off my loan amount and instead of paying £250 pm, I will now be paying £166 pm intead, leaving me with a £7k debt, which I feel is a lot more manageable and I feel a lot happier financially.

I never thought I would get anything back, I thought it was going to be difficult.

I have been having trouble paying off my loan and I have had lots of back payments that I needed to pay so whether their pay out is a result of me not being able to pay my loan I am not sure but I am not going to turn my nose up at it, I'm taking the money and running!

:j:j:j well done to you :T:T:T

ombudsman just phoned, the loans are at the same rate and term without the ppi , the increase in payments (£49. 67) total both loans,is to consolidate arrears back in over the same term, that was good as really they could have taken the arrears out of my settlement , so thanks to them for that!!

Successfully reclaimed PPI on 2 previous loans with Lloyds TSB and was surprised how much we got back - over £7500 !! Our present loan was a top-up with the same conditions, but they have refused our claim on this one, so it is now in the hands of the ombudsman. We had originally thought of using one of those no win, no fee companies, but are now glad we didn't - more cash in our pocket! It was so easy using your templates, so thanks MSE.

  • OMG!!!

    What: Loan PPI
How much: £900(ish) the whole amount
    Who: Natwest personal loan

Nearly two years ago I took out a loan as my overdraft had got a bit silly (actually a lot silly) I called there call center and said that i wanted to covert it into a loan and they said yes.

3 months ago whill looking for way to reduce the expenditure I got offered a loan for 8% APR so as I couldnt recall my current rate on the natwest loan I used an online APR estimator based on loan amount and payments and came up with an APR more like a credit card rate at 19%.

Called the customer service team and asked how much APR I was paying and they said 7.9% I nearly dropped the phone and then it dawned on me that I had seen a lot about PPI mis selling on MSE so I asked about that and was told that yes it was there. So not really thinking I asked them to investigate on that phone call.

Three months of waiting and getting letters saying "we're still looking in to it" and I have on the desk next to me this morning a letter. It essentially says "we dont admit liabilty but here's the money as a goodwill gesture anyway as long as you accept within 28 days" Trust me they will have the acceptance in about 28 hours!

Thank you Martin and everyone at MSE I've donated one months PPI payment to the MSE charity as a small token of my thanks.
