    OMG!!!

    What: Loan PPI
How much: £900(ish) the whole amount
    Who: Natwest personal loan

Nearly two years ago I took out a loan as my overdraft had got a bit silly (actually a lot silly) I called there call center and said that i wanted to covert it into a loan and they said yes.

3 months ago whill looking for way to reduce the expenditure I got offered a loan for 8% APR so as I couldnt recall my current rate on the natwest loan I used an online APR estimator based on loan amount and payments and came up with an APR more like a credit card rate at 19%.

Called the customer service team and asked how much APR I was paying and they said 7.9% I nearly dropped the phone and then it dawned on me that I had seen a lot about PPI mis selling on MSE so I asked about that and was told that yes it was there. So not really thinking I asked them to investigate on that phone call.

Three months of waiting and getting letters saying "we're still looking in to it" and I have on the desk next to me this morning a letter. It essentially says "we dont admit liabilty but here's the money as a goodwill gesture anyway as long as you accept within 28 days" Trust me they will have the acceptance in about 28 hours!

Thank you Martin and everyone at MSE I've donated one months PPI payment to the MSE charity as a small token of my thanks.
    :T:Twell done on your claim:money::money:

Hi All, just thought I'd post a big thankyou to all the advice posted on these forums. I've been a lurker for a while, and followed the successes, and wanted to share my success with First Direct!
Printed off the template for reclaiming PPI on the grounds that I was missold PPI due to being covered by my employer in the event of sickness, a fact I repeated on numerous occasions to the advisor on the phone at the point of taking the loan! But I was made to feel that I had to take the PPI like so many others I've read about on here!
Sent 1st letter in July, after debating whether to bother for about two months, got a letter a week letter acknowledging my complaint and that I would receive a response within 10 days!

Came home to a letter from them with a goodwill offer of £4725 including 8% interest, but not acknowledging any responsibility!

Happy as larry doesn't quite cover it! My mood which has been sour for a while due to my finances suddenly picked up!
Now to chase up Egg and Mint and see if I can get anything back from them!!!

If there are any lurkers out there reading, go for it! Seriously I never in a million years thought I'd be successful, especially with only one letter!!

Congrates to you and all the winners out there just great to here some people are winning their money back:T:T:T:T:T
I have 2 PPI claims all being dealt with by FOS could do with a win. I also have 1 PPI claim with FSCS because company gone bankrupt.
I have claim for bank charges on-hold for 3year

    Good-luck all

    Hi RUSS, ;)

I believe so, I know there is a lot of thread to get through in regards of success, but I am sure there have been quite a few.

I take it you have a case with these, or starting one maybe?

  • Hi

I think there was a success with Virgin recently posted. Think they are MBNA ultimately.

I am about to go after them on a CC claim so keep us posted if you proceed.
  • Hi

I just wanted to say a big thanks to everyone for all thier posts about IPP's. I enquired about the IPP that was sold to me by HSBC with my Graduation Loan. As suspected the policy did not cover the full term of the loan and like many others i felt cheated. I began making my complaint to them in April and today i have recieved a letter offering me over 5k.

I have snatched there hand off and accepted the offer. The money has just come at the right time and i feel that i have succeeded in beating the banks.

    Thanks again to everyone
    regards

  • Hi there,

well done on your recent success, im going through the process at the moment and had a graduate loan with protection and the total amount that i borrowed was 15k, (the amount that was drawn down into my account was approx 21000!)

how much did you borrow? just so I can work out how much I should be expecting.

and also did you get the amount as a cheque or direct to your account?

    Many thanks
    Shak

    Hi Di,;)
Thought I'd strike while the iron was hot and for the price of a stamp why the hell not! Took out the card application at a service station but said no to the ppi. Then received a cold call (maybe 2, can't remember) and they pestered me into it really i think. Have paid £300 in ppi. Just gonna go for the general mis-selling i.e. pushy sales andassistnat may not have been qualified blah blah, as per the templpate letter. What do you think oh pii guru? lol:D
