I only had to write one letter to Alliance and Leicester and although it took them two months to investigate I have just recieved a letter saying they are going to repay me £1300 which includes interest on the amount I have paid! I brought my loan online so didnt actually expect to get anything back, but they deemed I didnt get enough information about the PPI. It was so worth sending the letter! Oh and they are also reducing my monthly payments by £40 by taking the PPI off! Thank you Martin!

    Well done and Congratulations.

    hi,
wondering if anyone can help me,i sent off my request 4 copys of my old and stil current loan agreements on the 7th july last month,i stil havnt recieived these and i know it states that they hav 40 days to reply but surely i wud of received them by now????
my loans were with welcome finance, which ended in 2004,a rbos loan which i dont think i wil hav success with as this ended in 2001-2002, and finally my 3 loans with lloyds,2 of which hav ended in 2006 and the other is stil current,i was paying ppi on all these as i was told i needed it 4 the loan and wudnt get it otherwise, also when i eventually get these agreements thru is there a way of calculating the ppi paid or does the bank just calculate that 4 u?????
any advice or help wud b greatly appreciated.

    Hi there, ;)

I would chase them up and ask when should you be expecting to receive your documents?

You can still continue to reclaim on the PPI if you know you had this whilst waiting for your paperwork, as you do not have to write the figures down on the reclaiming letters.;)
If you need any help in reclaiming post up to let us know.
    Good luck.

Just a quick update - Today got my settlement agreed with HFC and they are going to settle at £12.5k (thats about 4K ppi premiums, 6K interest and another 2.5k 8% interest).

I was expecting something between 6-8K so I am absolutely over the moon and walking on cloud nine at the moment.

    Den

I just have to tell someone what happened to me and HFC.

Read Martin Lewis's Newspaper Article (News of the World 28/12/2008).

Sent my two letters to HFC and got the anticipated reply in that it was all my fault and clear off.

Then a letter to FOS in March 2009.

Just got home today and FOS has written saying HFC want to make a no liability offer to settle my PPI claim on a HFC loan account opened over 10 years ago with PPI payed each month.

I have got no idea what i am going to get back - suspect its the PPI payments plus 8% interest simple per year.

Not a bad return for 3 letters and stamps.

Thanks Martin for exposing this rip off - I will be more cautious in future and question everything.

    Den.

As you had 4 loans with them and they are refunding you, I take it they should definately refund directly to you the settled loans, I am aware these banks have their own way, but you can always make sure with them as well.
    Good luck X;)
