    Hi all,

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone on this board for there help.

After fighting with Welcome Finance for months over reclaiming PPI. I have recieved a letter from them offering me £806 as a goodwill gesture. This is slightly less than I wanted, but I never want to deal with Welcome Finance ever again.

    Thanks again all.

  • Following Martin's guidelines,I have successfully reclaimed PPI for my 2 MBNA cards going back several years(2000),totalling over £4 800.

It took several months(from Nov 2008),
and as my claim was initially refused by MBNA,
had to go through the Ombudsman.

I still feel I have probably been shortchanged a little bit,as there is no breakdown of the payments and I dont have every single one of my statements over the years,so have no way of checking without going through further frankly tiring writing and waiting.By my 'guesstimate' I was expecting between
    £6 - 8000.

Is there any way of checking the amount that isnt too tedious?
How exactly is the associated interest due calculated, esp the 8%
    added?
  • Why do we not create a national no banking day and stand outside there doors like a picket line and make them feel the shame that we feel when we have to ask for our own money back, and then treated like naughty school kids and that we are the ones at fault for bank charges. I am also sick of being told that we don't deal with charges in store and that you must write to or contact our head office.

P.S. on other thought where would the banks be if we all demanded that we get a wage packet again and the bank don't get there greedy mitts own our hard earned cash again via a bacs system how about it Martin call for and ending to our wages going to the bank and let us get pay packets back again lets see the greedy bankers panic eh! What do you think lets stick it to the Man! As they say

Hey guys, i'd just like to say a big thank you to MSE and the members of this forum, without you i wouldn't have had the knowledge and confidence to re claim my PPI against beneficial finance (HFC). I sent the letter last friday and received a reply within 1 week! whilst they do not accept liability for mis-selling of the PPI, they are willing to settle the complaint. The loan I gather is over but i'm still paying the interest (won't tel you how high it was lol, ridiculous) But the payments left were £1087.39 they have agreed to use that amount of interest to pay off the loan and close the account down, also credit my bank with £150. So that's £150 plus an extra £122 a month that I was making in payments. :)
Now just got to wait for it all to clear then on to OH old loan with PPI
2014 wins: 2x £100 vouchers, 1 nt stay at st james hotel nottingham, ellas kitchen pouches, x2 gadget show tickets,x2 dresses, dvds, mr kiplings, crate of IPA,wall mural, sleep spray, beach towel, Best win to date: 7 night break in Cornwall barn conversion:j thanks to everyone who posts!

What reason did you give for the mis-selling of the ppi policy:question: I ask as I am about to try and claim mine back:o

    Hi there

I know it means more writing but a quick note to ask them for the full breakdown of how they worked this out will help, your entitled to have these on request.;)
Hope they do this for you, good luck.

I only had to write one letter to Alliance and Leicester and although it took them two months to investigate I have just recieved a letter saying they are going to repay me £1300 which includes interest on the amount I have paid! I brought my loan online so didnt actually expect to get anything back, but they deemed I didnt get enough information about the PPI. It was so worth sending the letter! Oh and they are also reducing my monthly payments by £40 by taking the PPI off! Thank you Martin!
