I've just started the claim process with First Plus. I took out a £25,100 secured loan in 2006 and the single premium ppi of £6146.99 was added to the loan, so the total was £31,246.99. I sold the property 11 months later in 2007 due to relocation, and settled the loan with the profit from the sale but had to pay back £31,467. I sent the 1st letter requesting all related documents on 26th June 2009, received on the 30th June (3 bits of paper). I then sent the first template letter on the 2nd July and received a response on the 6th July saying "they were sorry I had had to contact them with my concerns about the ppi policy and they were looking into my concerns and I will have a response or update a.s.a.p. but no later than 30th July 2009". Will keep you all updated.

P.S. Does this sound familiar to anyone?

I am still waiting for a response from First Pish! My post doesn't get delivered until mid afternoon so it's a case of waiting round with one eye on the letter box on my days off. The second letter is all ready to go off in case they don't bother replying, which I half expect to be honest. 7 days to go
  • Wrote to Lloyds TSB for misselling PPI on loan, they have turned claim down but are prepared to refund premiums already paid which i find strange, just a couple of questions that i need to ask:
    1) should they pay interest on the payments already made
    2) should the rebate be paid directly back to myself and not taken off the balance of the loan - they are already reducing the monthly repayments to take account of the unexpired portion of PPI
    3) what i dont understand is if they are saying that it hasnt been mis sold then why are they offering to refund the premiums already - not that i am complaining - this has only taken since 17th july 09 so has been very quick all i need to do now is contact their rebates department to accept.

Any further help/assistance would be appreciated

if they are prepared to give you this , then i would get in touch with them and ttell them you would like the interest payments and the ppi you have paid to be given to you in a cheque, if they will not do this i would take this to fos, you may have a wait but that is up to you, and they would not be giving you your ppi back if they did not mis sell, they are hoping you will just accept this and go away, if you want to accept this then that is up to you, but good luck with this

Received an email from FSCS today saying:
    Dear Claire
I can confirm that Picture Financial were declared 'in default' on 8 July 2009, and we are now processing your claim.
    Yours sincerely

Wonder if that means that they really are processing my claim or are just looking into it??
anyone else had anything like this?

Maybe its all coming to an end??

Sent claim forms to FSCS in July/August 2008, have you got a nice low reference number?
March 2008 should be one of the first to be looked at surely?
