New to the boards, just a quick question. Im in the process of reclaiming these charges from 3 credit cards. Without pushing my luck, can anybody tell me whether i can reclaim 'charges' from when I withdrew cash on my credit cards? Stupid i know but yes, i used to do it!!!

    Thanks

    Hi and welcome.;)

In regards of reclaiming charges, there is a thread here you can post on:
    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/forumdisplay.html?f=102

However, if you have a PPI case to deal with due to being mis sold this for any reason, this is the right place, for more information check this link here:
    http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/ppi-loan-insurance
And of course if you feel you have a case, please do post up here for help, good luck with the charges as well.;)

Keep these reclaims separate as you can reclaim on both charges and PPI if mis sold this product. X

    Hi,

Has anyone had joy with reclaiming PPI from GE Money Burton store card? Do they have any postal address other than the P.O. Box as I would like to send the reclaim letter with registered mail. Would it make a difference if I only send it first class?

    Regards

    Hi there

In regards of the store card, you write to the ones who arranged it, I take it - it was arranged in Burton's store?

I always suggest to post by recorded delivery, because this is your proof of posting, you can check the posting on this on Track and Trace on the Royal Mail website, what I normally do is apply my own stamp if I have any available, then your only charged then for the recorded post, its less that a quid this way, if you already have first class stamps.;)

For contacts check the stores out on here, you can do a search as well if you want to:
    http://www.burton.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/StaticPageDisplay?storeId=12551&catalogId=20553&identifier=br1%20stores%20uk

Or write to both, make them aware that you have also wrote to the other as well, but found details of GE Money here in regards of protection, hope this helps as well:
    http://www.gemoney.co.uk/en/insurance/card_protection/

Just had a look on the GE thread I posted above, and they also have a complaints contacts dept as well, here:

What were you reclaiming: PPI on credit card

    Who was the provider: Halifax

How much did you get back: over £9000

Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: 1st letter

I did this on behalf of my sister who has MS (16 years) and is registered blind. She has never worked in that period and i can't believe she got the card in the first place as it is in her name only (her husband works) and she has been on Benefits the whole time.
She would never have been able to claim under the policy. This payment has cleared her balance with £600 left over. I have also sent a similar letter to M&S for her so we are quite hopeful that she will get something back on that.

What were you reclaiming: PPI on loan

Who was the provider: Household bank (now Beneficial Finance)

How much did you get back: £3400

Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: after 1st letter

Downloaded the letter and sent it off in March. Forgot all about it then got a letter May apologising for the delay and offering me over 3000 (including 8% interest), which ment that I only had to send them 700 and the loan was cleared saving me 3 years of further payments amounting to over 6000!! And all it cost was the price of a second class stamp! Cheers Martin
