Hi there
Good luck with this.
First of all if you have no agreement, write to them and enclose a £ postal order or cheque payment for this request, they should supply by 12 days.
Ask them to send you a true copy of the CCA.
Post by recorded delivery.
If they have a data department then post to that section.
When it comes to reclaiming, if they have a complaints dept then you write to them by giving them 8 weeks in full to respond.
You post by recorded delivery, and if check it out on the Royal mail website for Tracking, this is also your proof of posting.
If you hear nothing by 8 weeks, contact the financial ombudsman service (FOS), if they send a response but have not resolved it in your favour then they will let you know if you can write back to them with further information, they should also give you details of the FOS by the final letter as well.
Even though there are templates for this, you can use them if you want, or use your own words, and obviously write your own reasons for why you believe you were mis sold.
If you don't mind me asking but who are the banks?
Cheers.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Many thanks to Martin.
Last year I used your template to try reclaiming PPI on my MBNA credit card. I am a self employed window cleaner. After their thorough investigation, they informed me I did not qualify and the matter was closed.
Eight months later I heard Martin on GMTV say this was the usual response, don't give up, contact the Financial Ombudsman. So I did. This morning I received a letter telling me they were repaying £1424.94 plus £600.91 in interest.
I also used your template for unfair charges and got back £500 from Capitol One for my son.
Templates are on the way to Barclaycard, Capitol One,Goldfish, Halifax and Virgin, for myself my son and my Mother-in-law.
Our success is thanks to you

- What were you reclaiming: Credit Card PPI
- Who was the provider: EGG
- How much did you get back: £226
- Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: from 1st letter
- And then write your brief reclaim tale: Applied for my egg card whilst at university using the on-line application. Filled in the template letter off this site adding a specific that no mention of National Insurance Contributions was made and by reply (2 weeks after submitting claim)was informed full refund of charges and 8% statuary interest. I'm waiting to go to the bank and help pay for holiday.

Have just received a letter from Halifax today offering me £2,500 refund of premiums paid - including interest!
The remaining element of the PPI loan has also been deducted from my outstanding loan meaning my monthly repayments are £50 lower!
This was after writing one letter of complaint a few weeks ago! I can't believe how quickly it has been sorted.
Thank you very much :j0
