  • Hi everyone

Just thought i'd post to share my good news with you and give hope to others about these ppi's!! I recently found out that my husband had mounted up huge debts without me knowing ( i know how stupid was I?? we didn't have a joint b/a and I just had no reason to suspect) anyway, 2 of these debts were with egg one card one loan, so i thought after seeing on here to try my luck at reclaiming. My husband had no paperwork though so I thought it would take forever but i did it on his behalf anyway. 9 days after the letter was sent we had one letter re: loan giving back £2645 and 4 days after that another re: card giving back £1785. I was gobsmacked to say the least as I really thought i'd have to fight tooth and nail to get this back but I'm so pleased as this has eased the pressure off the other things he has mounted up!! So thank you to moneysaving expert and to others who gave me the inspiration to do it! Hope everyone else is successful to x.x.x

Another wee question, does anyone know where i stand as i now have a new loan with welcome(stupidly with no ppi) but i was not sent out any of the paperwork to give me my cooling off period, they of course denied this, and i signed the agreement reluctantly as i was desperate!! can anyone advise me ???

    Hi there

Not too sure on this one to be honest, although I note you confirmed you did not take PPI anyway, but I'm sure the cooling period would stand for the loan as well, maybe someone will know more on these cases, good luck.;)

How much did we get back? £6,997.60

    Story:-

Sent letter off on 30th March and received Questionnaire. Filled in as best as we could remember and sent it off with a covering letter explaining that the first loan was taken out in 2002 and had PPI added. Subsequent two loans were "top ups" and we were only given the monthly payment with no discussion about PPI. Got couple of letters stating that they were still investigating and replied to them. Got phone call from Case Handler last Monday 29th June advising that their investigation was complete and letter coming out with acceptance forms. Checked the details and have accepted. Over the moon. Thanks everyone who advised and helped. Plenty beer!
