one of the reasons they are fighting this claim of mine is that they say i am time barred because i took this out in 2002.....but i repaid it in 2005 and the final settlement figure included paying back the PPI......so i copied and pasted this in to the letter i have just sent off......
    • Is your policy older but still active or ended in the last six years?
If your policy started over six years ago and you are either still using it, or it ended within the last six years: Reclaim and ask your lender for a copy of the paperwork if you no longer have it. Your chances of success may be reduced if you have been aware of the misselling for some time, you have already complained or your account is very old.
ok, it is costing me in stamps, but its worth it for a great game of chess....im loving it ;)

  • Can anyone help me i had a secured loan with welcome, which i paid off approx 8 years early, 2 and a half years ago after selling my property. I had ppi with this. can i still claim back the ppi which i was misold ????
  • Another wee question, does anyone know where i stand as i now have a new loan with welcome(stupidly with no ppi) but i was not sent out any of the paperwork to give me my cooling off period, they of course denied this, and i signed the agreement reluctantly as i was desperate!! can anyone advise me ???

hi pauline, yep i think you can... i am doing the same thing with my new claim....and had the same sort of thing with my old claim and won that one......it will cost you a stamp or two....but, the result could be much more than the price of a few stamps......if you dont ask, you dont get....go for it, whats the worst that could happen.....they will write back trying to fob you off....but keep going, and pop on here for help,,,,,there are so many that will help you on here.good luck ;)

I had an Egg credit card and was sold PPI several years into having the card. I got an unsolicited call when working abroad. Egg sent me a soundfile of the calll in which I clearly stated that I worked abroad and was in Belgium. The sales girl, who went through no security with me, said she would instigate the PPi insurance immediately on my account.

Recently I wrote and disputed the insurance, as it does not cover you when abroad.

Egg first sent a letter saying that the claim was not valid. For some reason they wrote a few days later admitting liability and that the recording clearly stated that i was working abroad.

They refunded 74 pounds after aa few days and said that is was a "goodwill" payment.

OK, dirty trick here! "Goodwill" generally means a reduced payment. They further said that the payment was backdated to when the insurance started. NO! It was a trick and they owe me hudnreds more.

Having accepted liability they do not have a lefg to stand on and i am asking for a FULL repayment, failing which I will go down the legal route.

BEWARE people! The wording of their letter made it soundd like a full refund but it was anything but. Check and recheck your figures even if you are a "PPI success".
I wrote a letter of complaint to Littlewoods and within two weeks I had every penny of PPI returned back to me. In total, some £200.

Currently in talks with Bank of Scotland over a loan which I took out that had PPI automatically added to it - I thought it was part of the loan!

    Hi all

So, i still seem to be at war with Barclays bank. They are due to give me a figure by tomorrow and i called to chase today to find out that no-one knows who's dealing with my case, no figures have been worked out, no letters issued! It's taken me 5 days just to get through to a person rather than a voicemail.

Barclays bank are so frustrating. No idea what to do next to be honest other than bang my head against a brick wall!

Another phone call to barclays.... they still have no idea what is happening and no letter has been raised even though the amount is due to me today! I don't blame the people on the helpline, my caseworker is constantly on voicemail! They can only tell me what has been written on my file (which is completely out of date , last record is June of last year)

I'm sure when this is over i'll be really happy, but right now all i feel is complete frustration with them.

I've been promised a phonecall by the person dealing with my case today although i've played this game with them before and have heard nothing. Still, hopefully they surprise me and i have some good news later on today!

Fingers and toes are firmly crossed!

    Dawn
