Hi alex
That's fantastic news:jWell done.
May I ask if your loan was pre 2005 and who it was with. I am trying to gauge how many cases are successful for this period.
Well done!!!0 -

Have just received my payment from EGG for PPI paid for their credit card. They paid out £2400 after I went to the ombudsman
The original letter was sent to them in October to which we got a reply saying that the PPI had not been mis sold and they included the recording of the telephone call in which they sold it. We sent the whole lot to the ombusdman stating that not only did they not ask about existing cover etc(I work for the NHS so will be covered by their sick pay system) but that the paperwork with the terms and conditions (including cancellation information) was not sent out as they stated it would be in the call
The ombudsman upheld the complaint and EGG finally agreed to refund the premiums paid by creditting it to my (inactive) EGG card and paying me a lump sum for the interest accrued. This was done by them making the two payments onto my EGG card and then me having to phone them and transfer the interest payment into my bank account.
EGG have been dragged kicking and screaming through this process and have made it last as long as possible, going right up to and in some cases past every deadline that was set for them and requiring multiple e-mails on our behalf. Even the final transfer of the money took two calls and an email!
Success is sweet though isn't it, although I don't think we would have persevered without the stories and information we got from this site
