yes thats right, you will have the ins taken off and the loan recalculated for the time remaining.you have to be put back to the position you were in before ins was added at the same rate of interest you had in the beginning, hope this helps. amd well done on your win!!

Success! Thanks to all the advice, templates and this website.
Sent out letters to all my loans/cc providers and bank charges on the 11/05/09, Got 2 letters this morning, HFC loan, offered me £765 refund and Simply be Catalogue £45 quid which I accepted.

Alliance and Leicester sent me back an expenditure form to fill in and return within 10days which am doing tonight.

Still waiting for a few more (see signature)

I can't believe I sat on these for so long! Thank you Martin! Love you loads!!!!

Its now 16 months since the FOS took on my case and 9 months since it was passed to the Ombudsman for a final decision and I'm STILL waiting!!! I'm now officially fed up to the back teeth of waiting and getting absolutely no response to phone calls, emails or letters. What on earth is going on at the FOS that they're not communicating with me? I'm beginning to wonder whether they've lost my file which, according to the adjudicator when I have managed to speak to him, is near the top of the pile, where it seems to have been for the past few months!

I feel like complaining to someone at the FOS but worried about jeopardising my case. Its driving me CRAZY!!!!!:eek::eek:

Still trying to smile though!

Really pleased for all the people who've had success with their claims. Well done!!! :T

After my success of 1st stage letter receiving £1,100 back from Liverpool Victoria I have now successfully had a letter today (only after the 1st stage letter - 8 weeks ago) from HSBC refunding £8,100 back from previous and current loan/s and been offered to restructure my current loan payment on same term/ interest without PPI.:beer:THANK YOU !!!!!

Can somebody tell me how the restructure works? e.g. I have about 17k to pay with interest at about 320 per month thats 55 payments left. From this 17k..... is the remaining insurance premium taken away and then my monthly payments simply reduced?

This is wonderful news, well done to you ! :j

I see that our amersall has responded to your calculation question.;)

    Hi EllBee

    How are you?:A

Despite all this going on waiting for an outcome on your case with the FOS of course.

    Its a very long time.

Do you have the name of the one who is dealing with your case yet?

Or I take it you are still waiting for this to be moved on, for them to tell you its forever to be on top of the pile......

    Congratulations Sian well done !:beer::T:beer:

Now the FOS give them normally a fortnight to agree to this and they should then let you know.
Is this the first adjudicator, or was this moved on from the adjudicator to the ombudsman himself?

When you sign and accept, I would give them a month to pay out, if you not received anything by that month let them FOS know and they will arrange to chase them up for you.;)

    Great news this.:T

  • What were you reclaiming: Loan
    Who was the provider: Egg
How much did you get back: Just under £3500 with interest added
Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: Just used the first letter as per Martins template then recieved a letter 4 weeks later saying that they were refunding us and the amount we were owed was going to be taken off the loan amount we owed them!
And then write your brief reclaim tale
Also at min just wrote to Bank Of Scotland over a car loan PPI and awaiting reply, thanks for all your help Martin, couldnt of done it without you and it couldnt have come at a better time
