Not sure if i can claim or not ?
I had 3 loans from argos
20/02/2003 loan for £5000 with LP premium £750
04/07/2003 loan for £1000 with LP premium £150
21/04/2004 loan for £6400 with LP premium £1280

I got another loan from Lloyds TSB
05/05/2005 loan for £8250 with LP premium £1890

None of the aboe include intrest and have all been payed in full.
Some loans were paid up early.
Can i claim on any of the above ?
What do i do next ?
Any help to get me started would be great.
    Thanks.
    Lee.

I have a secured Barclay loan (worst mistake of my life). I used the advice on the web site and was offered £4500 back which is only a small proportion of the PPI. Next I went to the Financial Ombudsman who informed my that DUE TO ME SERVING IN THE MILITARY I did have a case and 1 year later we have a £21000 compensation package which includes the PPI paid off, return of interest, return of payments made + extras. WINNER!

    Well done Paul

    Congratulations.

    Hi there Lee

It does not make any difference if the finance is settled or not.

If you were mis sold this PPI for any reason then try to reclaim on this.

Here is the link below to useful information, templates and the guidelines of reclaiming.
    http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/ppi-loan-insurance

Write your own reasons in the template letter and keep on at them, they may write back and not resolved this first time round, if this is the case write back to them until you receive the final response, also in the final response they should give details of the Financial ombudsman service (FOS) if eligible.

Post all letters by recorded delivery, good luck and post up for help anytime.

Also just to add, you don't need to write in the figures on the reclaiming letter, you can request for full calculations through the post at a later date.

    Hi Lee

Check the link here this will give you more info, and reasons of mis selling, if any of them occur to you then write them in your letter, where the template is also on the link for you to use.
    http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/ppi-loan-insurance

For example, many were sold PPI automatically, and without giving you an option.

Many have also assumed PPI was all part of the finance.

There are many reasons, so worth checking them out with the info on the above link.;)

Just hoping someone can help me here. Sent a letter to reclaim ppi from my Debenhams card to GE Money. They have sent back that:

Because my card was opened in 1986 they have no records & because it was before 2005 the FSA can't help me. They are telling me to write to the FLA if I am not happy.

Has anyone had any experience with GE Money / Debenhams ?

Would the FLA be able to help me ?

    Hi Gazza

You can try the FLA, but other than that seek advice from your local CAB to see if they can help you through this.
    FLA here:
    http://www.fla.org.uk/fla/contact/index.jsp

Tell the FLA that you were told to get in touch with these.

I wish you luck and please keep us posted.;)

    Hiya Gazza

Good luck with this and if you can try to ring them otherwise, in case they have an email queue.
Hope they can deal with this for you, please let us know, as others on here may have other suggestions for you if your not lucky with these.

    Fingers crossed anyway.

After my success of 1st stage letter receiving £1,100 back from Liverpool Victoria I have now successfully had a letter today (only after the 1st stage letter - 8 weeks ago) from HSBC refunding £8,100 back from previous and current loan/s and been offered to restructure my current loan payment on same term/ interest without PPI.:beer:THANK YOU !!!!!

Can somebody tell me how the restructure works? e.g. I have about 17k to pay with interest at about 320 per month thats 55 payments left. From this 17k..... is the remaining insurance premium taken away and then my monthly payments simply reduced?
