Me too - Sainsburys are looking into mine. In that case, the '1 year PPI cover' was ticked although it carried on after the year for another 5!!!Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!0

from vora59
this started in july 2007 when tryed to cancell PPI
finally took it to FSO dec2007
they must have written to HSBC in early jan 2008
sorted by 22jan keep going remember its only costing you a postage stamp
and a litle time
Thanks for this info, much appreciated. Its funny how they have come to pay up as soon as the FSO have become involved! I'm still waiting for a reply. They have already said no twice to my claim for the ppi on a credit card. Am now waiting for no to loan for the second time then I too am off to the FSO with both cases. Fingers crossed!0 -
I'm glad to hear you've had a full refund plus interest.
I've just had a booklet ! back from the HSBC on reasons why they've declined my reclaim. But I'm not giving up hope and have sent them a second letter to reconsider. If that gets a decline then off to the FOS we go.
I too sent my 1st letter to them in Novemeber and after 3 letters saying they were still investigating I finally received the decline last week. A bit gutted but I'll carry on with it until the very end.
Stories like this make me more determined to succeed.
I sent my first letters to the HSBC in November too! and yes I had exactly the same responce as you! I'm now waiting for a reply to the second letter, this was sent almost 2 weeks ago and I haven't even had any acknowlegement, guess their very busy!!!! Can't begin to guess why!!!
Good luck to you, fingers crossed!0 -
I have been atempting to reclaim PPI from GE Money(store card) and Bank of Scotland(credit card).
I have just had verbal confirmation the GE are refunding me my PPI payments + the 8% Interest on payments, AND interest on loss of payments!!!!! :j .....Amounting to £652.44p....THANK YOU very much MSE...couldn't have, wouldn't have done it without you! ...just have to wait for the cheque now!
I reclaimed under pre exsiting medical condition, and although I sent them a template letter, and they turned me down, I just called them and asked what they required from me to refund my payments, and they told me!..a letter from my doc or clinic nurse giving an overview of my condition, on headed paper, with a covering letter from me stating why I wanted a refund. I started this in November 2007, and I allowed time for the holidays, I am very happy with the reponse from GE, I know they are hard work, but it just goes to show that if there is a will there is a way! Cannot thank you enough:D0 -

My PPI claim was for a pre existing medical condition too (I was actually off work with an injury when I took out the loan), the sales person knew that I was off work and the reason why but did not inform me of the consequences if I needed to claim. After a yearr, I required surgery for the injury and tried to claim on the PPI but was refused due to it being a pre existing condition. GE money state that as they wern`t "there" when I took out their finance for double glazing with Anglian windows then they are refusing to refund me as they cannot vouch that the sales person for Anglian mis-sol me the PPI. I can prove that I was off work at the time but I don`t think they will budge and refund me my PPI.0 -

I have just received a letter from loanmakers who were the broker who dealt with my loan, they have said they are looking in to it but want me to fill out a questionnaire which asks lots of questions regarding what i told them about anyway. Any one else have to fill out a questionnaire?0

What were you reclaiming: PPI
Who was the provider: HSBC
How much did you get back:£717.03 + 8% int £385.83 Total £1,102.86
Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: 1ST Letter
After my local branch gave me the details of the loan which was repaid in Dec 2003 i sent the template letter just before xmas 2007.Got reply 2 weeks later that they were looking into it. Then another letter 1 week after that to say investigation was taking a little longer and would have a decision within 4 weeks.Got letter this morning saying that they were upholding my complaint. Would not respond specifically to individual issues ie that i was told i would not get the loan without ppi but would explain how the matter would be resolved. Voila £1,102.86.
Thanks to MSE i have reclaimed bank charges of over £700 plus this.
Would recommend anyone who feels they have been misold to go for it , nothing to lose but a stamp and 10 mins of time. Cheers0 -

We sent the letters to Head Office and the local branch and got a response on the deadline of the second letter.
(We're going to tackle the charges next!)
Good luck!
I asked them for a reimbursement of PPI, Motor Breakdown and Shortfall Extra all purchased when i took out a four year contract with my car. My complaint letter was dated 21st Nov 07 and they gave me a final response 46 days later [they breached their 40 day complaints answering guidelines].
I won using MARTIN LEWIS' template letters and have been awarded £4,985.85 [inc. of interest] BUT........due to me still having the car, they have informed me they have deducted the reimbursement from the total outstanding on my car!!!!!
I have written to them specifically asking for the money to be paid directly to me by cheque ESPECIALLY when i am 14 days away from terminating the whole contract.
So my saga continues.......
Good Luck and Keep Fighting.0 -
