Hi,
Any help/advice would be great!!!!
Two years ago we took out a loan with PICTURE, last year they offered us a top up loan and at the time was much needed. What they did was clear off the first loan and gave us a second loan, we recieved nothing from the PPI which was over £9,000 and now our PPI is over £12,000........shocking I know and to be honest it was my hubbie who suggested trying out this site.
We were wondering if we could reclaim back the PPI from the first loan from which we got nothing?????
Any help would be gratefully appreciated, and masses of good luck to those in the process, if anyone has already dealt with this company any info would be great also,........also concerning WELCOME!!!!

- What were you reclaiming:Loan
- Who was the provider Alliance & Leicester
- How much did you get back:£1662.36
- Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: 2nd letter
- And then write your brief reclaim tale
Reply saying I had the book, it was explained to me etc
Wrote a 2nd letter asking for a full list of differences between a employed and self employed persons cover. And quoting the missreprasentation act etc(Cheers Tiggrae for the help)
Today(day 56), letter offering full refund, £1000 which is arreas then the rest in a cheque, i'm going to ask them to take the lot off the loan then pay the £420 which is left on the balance next week.
So happy and thanks to this site for the priceless information.
Piece of advice for those looking to claim back, do your research 1st weve got a lot more rights than we a re led to believe.:D

First of all i would like to say a massive thankyou to martin:money:
i took out a loan in july 2006 with first plus i also took out ppi protection when i took it out i explained to the sales person that i would be settling my loan early what she did not tell me is that with ppi you actually buy the policy so when i settled my loan 10 month later i would be over £8,000 out of pocket when i settled the loan i did make a complaint to first plus and try and claim my money back but they replied saying they were right i was wrong even though i was not happy i thought there was nothing else i could do  about it till i saw martin on his tonight special so i got the template letter from his site and sent it off got a letter back saying again they were right i was wrong but i could escalate my complaint internally which i did this time i got a letter back saying although they were stiil right to settle my claim they were offering me a enhanced rebate of £3242.39 in addition to the 2237.75 that was included in the settlement figure which amounts to 78% of the insurance premium 22% being held back for the provisions of claims (whatever they are) although we did ot get all our money back or any intrest we would not have even got that without martins help:T
so even if you have been told no before keep trying pursuvirance pays off..0 -

I heard Martin on the radio a little while ago talking about PPI so I thought I'd check out the website. I wasn't sure if to bother with sending off letters to try and reclaim it but after reading everyone's success stories I thought it can't hurt to try.
I used the sample template and wrote to GE Money on 15 Jan 08 with a photocopy of my original application form filled out instore. It showed an empty box, no tick or signature from me for PPI so I definately didn't ask for it!
I got a letter a week later saying they would look into it and come back to me with in 4 weeks.
Today a letter arrived saying they were refunding the total amount paid, plus interest plus 8%! (as Martin suggests asking for)
A total of £358!
I'm delighted!
I've written to Capital One as well, they've said no and that they have evidence proving I asked for it (I don't remember asking for it!)
So I've written to them again asking for copies and using the second template letter.
Fingers crossed it works!
My advice is if you're not sure, just have a go, you've got nothing to loose.0 -

Hi All,
Another success from HSBC. Got a return of £560 for PPI I had on a Loan which ended in 2002. This one went the whole 8 weeks before they paid up "as a gesture of goodwill".
Just a quick note for all you claimants out there....I had a successful claim on this Policy yet still got £560 in return. As Martin is constantly reminding us, all it cost is a stamp or two and you could be quids in!!!!
Just sent my documents to the FO as MBNA are playing hardball...will keep you posted
Good Luck to all0 -

Write to them again, re-iterating your case i.e. the reasons why you feel you were mis-sold the PPI policy, give them a limited time to respond after which you will take your case to the Financial Ombudsman.
Good Luck!0
