Won my case for PPI miss sold that was connected to a mortgage from nationwide(cheshire building society when i took it out). Was taken all the the way to the ombudsmans final decision.
  • I previously had two loans with WF in 2003 one in april and one in July they confirmed that they had calculated that i should get £3300 back

However the letter also noted that Welcome Finance were unable to affect settlement of this and that i would need to wait until an administrator was appointed at which point i would be sent a form to make a claim, however i would not be guaranteed to get a payment.

I am a bit perturb that i may not end up getting anything back at all as my date seems to be between where aviva are taken responsibility and where the fscs are taking responsibility. Can you please advise what the next stage of the process is whether i need to just sit and wait for this to be process to take place or if i should contact the likes of Aviva or the ombudsman?

  • hi potter! I've done one WF claim quickly via Aviva and one via FSCS that's taking a lot longer, started mid January and I called them a week or so ago and it's still being assigned to someone to manage. They did say 3-6 months is normal. Best of luck

  • Might be worth trying Morgan Stanley. I had problems finding Goldfish originator and they came up on my radar but eventually I found mine had been transferred to Barclays.
  • I've completed my PPI trawls now and ended up with £41,743, all from Credit cards (RBS, Egg, MBNA, Citi, Amex, Goldfish - sign of living off cards in the 90's!) and without using claims companies. Had to go to the Ombudsman for most but a bit of form filling and patience works wonders.
Still trying to persuade friends to action these but many just can't be bothered! If you are dithering...go for it!

So I wrote a letter to RBS a few weeks back over 3 separate loans. One of which was just short of £10,000 the bank offered me £700 for all 3 loans :/ (£444 for £10,000 loan) I calculated the £10,000 loan at being around £2000-£3000 (very rough estimate) using the online calculator. I rang the RBS ppi team and asked if this was full or comparative redress. This is a full redress. So I'm going to ring back the bank and go from there.

although that is heavily flawed and prone to over estimating.

Did you repay any of the loans early? If so, PPI is proportionately rebated on early repayment within the settlement figure.

With the big loan I don't think I did (was 8 years ago) however if I did it would have only been about a month early.
