I need to trace my mortgage account number, from the year 2000, to look into my claim
Nobody here can tell you that information. Contact your mortgage provider.

    PPI Party Pooper
Just had a refund from Barclays for an old (1994) loan, PPI was only £40 but they have paid £121 which is mostly interest
  • Very excited to receive a cheque from Littlewoods today for £5,349.28 as they upheld my complaint. It only took one phone call and 10 minutes to fill in a form - and to think I nearly didn't bother as I thought it would be a long drawn out process !
  • Just a quick message to say thanks to the advice I got from watching the Martin Lewis Money Program and also the advice on the MSE website I contacted the Halifax Building Society and successfully made a claim to the sum of £3166.66 for PPI on a mortgage I had with them over 20 years ago.
The process: I called the telephone number stated on the MSE website on the 12th of February and gave the Halifax some of the information required to start the claim. Within a few days they then sent me a form to fill in and return with some relevant paperwork relating to my old mortgage and the Mortgage Payment Protection Insurance (MPPI) they informed me at the time that I had to have for them to progress my mortgage application. Then I received a letter from the Halifax on the 29th of March confirming that my claim had been approved and also confirming the amount they would be transferring into my bank account. I checked my bank account the following day and saw that they had indeed transferred the full amount into my account that day. So the whole process took just over six weeks.
I hope that others take note and follow the advice on the MSE website before it's too late to make any further PPI claims.

Hi all, just a quick one. I emigrated to Canada from the UK in 2007 and im still living here.
I have a Capital One MasterCard, obviously a Canadian one and I was wondering if there is any chance I could claim back any PPI from it ? or is all this "Miss Selling" only applicable in the UK. I checked my statements and there is no mention of PPI but im wondering if they don't put it on your statements.
Any help here would be greatly appreciated.

You dont need to be in the UK. However:
1 - did you have PPI?
    2 - were you mis-sold it?

It would be daft to put in a complaint if you didnt have it. If you did have it, it would be a transaction on the statement. It is not invisible.

  • absolute surprise ---today got home checked bank account whoa another payout had nothing in last 3 years thought it was all over for us.made phone call to check with company and it was confirmed by advisor .letter in post they say .anybody with similar experience .hope there is more but this was more than welcomed i can tell you.just goes to show how wrong they got it first time round.
  • Had always had a feeling I'd been overcharged on a loan I'd taken out 16 years ago, but thought it would be too late even to investigate, let alone claim. But just two weeks ago I noticed a PPI blurb at the bottom of Barclays' online banking page encouraging people to fill in a form, clicked on it, saw it was very simple and filled it in - not even 3 minutes.
A week ago I received a letter saying they were investigating, then this morning I got another letter confirming my claim had been upheld and I'd be getting £5000 back!
This was so easy that I urge anyone in the same boat to fill in that form - it's your money after all.
  • good for you absolute magic --i had to do nothing for my money i recd yesterday thought it was all finished 3 years ago.over the moon

Hi, after 2 years with FOS, I have had a phone call from them to say that the Insurance Company who underwrote my card want to make an offer, however it may take some time as FOS are ensuring they offer a fair settlement, it may take a few more months but looks good
