Thank you to Martin, especially for his template letter, I successfully claimed back £1000's from royal bank of scotland in 2013. Then after some forum watching I came across another possible claim with Virgin credit card and it was also successful with nearly £1000 reclaimed.16 projects in 2016 - 5/16

I thought all of my PPI claims were sorted out in 2012 I have just received a cheque in post from Lloyds Bank after they had done a review of my previous claims . Cheque was for over £50000

I recently received £4000 from Lloyds.
This represents some success, but it comes with a big But.
I asked about 5 years ago and was told ,"We can see no record of any PPI".
Then in January I received a letter from the bank asking me to apply for a refund . I duly dd this and after a long delay I was called with some questions. Including wether I remembered being sold PPI and wether the details were explained to me. I explained I did remember and No the details were not explained.
About 2 weeks after this call £4000 arrived in my account with NO letter of explanation.
I waited over 2 weeks and then called them. I was told the letter would be re sent and I must wait 10 days.
I waited 2 weeks and called back . I was told it would be re sent and I must wait 10 days.
I did that and still NO letter.
I then asked for them to send it registered . They said they would see.
I waited another week and have now been told that my request is being dealt with and I must wait 10 days from last call . During this call and unprompted by me the man told me I can contest the amount without prejudice .This is the frst mention of contesting since I have received the award.
I cannot contest until I have the letter breaking down the award . Which is apparently for 3 different loans.
As far as I can tell they may continue to not inform me for ever.0 -
Hi everyone. Bit of a Newbie here. I'm in the process of going through all my old statements and papers to find possible ppi claims. First one I remembered though was Yorkshire Bank from 1994 when I stupidly took out a loan to get my boyfriend a car!!! I was only 22 at the time!! Anyhow I know the loan had ppi although had no paperwork anymore. I phoned the Yorkshire just thought its perhaps worth a try see if I had ppi and they could confirm it... Anyway I've had a letter saying they're investigating it last week, and today I've had a call from them wanting to know did I make any claims on the policy between the dates they gave me, and did I ever have any periods of unemployment due to redundancy or illness, which I did. So I told them about those. Just wondered if this is a good sign or indication I might get a refund? I didn't even have the loan account number or any information or papers so will be made up if I get a refund I could really really do with the money too.1P Challenge #1 £1.71/£667.95

I have requested and waited 5 times now . Each time I have been told the letter to explain the amount I was awarded, is on the way. Each time I am told to wait 10 days. Lloyds tell me they have sent it over and over. I have told them to send it recorded delivery.
I am now asking HOW LONG is TOO LONG. we are now well over a month I cannot seem to get them to tell me the info.0 -
reclaiming: loan
Who was the provider: RBS
How much did you get back: 8300
Did you get it back : I download a letter on behalf of my mother who said she didn't have any PPI but she needed the roof doing and had no spare money. I work within the financial services myself so knew a little about how it worked. After finally convincing her to me let me check in her behalf I wrote first to RBS and enclosed a pound and asked for any loan agreements my mother had with them. They wrote back and confirmed they were not obliged to do so. My mother wanted to stop at this point but I was quite angry about this so dug deeper. I wrote to the PPI team and confirmed my mum was a customer and as I enclosed a payment she was entitled to see a copy of any closed loan agreements. Finally they sent through details of the loans about a week later. It turns out she did have insurance but it didn't confirm how much. I therefore completed the PPI reclaim form from this website on her behalf and in her own words put in a claim. Three weeks later we hadn't heard anything so was getting worried until I arrived home and my mum had about seven letters from RBS on the mat. They were all offers with interest. A week ago she returned them and she got a text the day after saying that payment should be in 28 days. However, the next day she received a text in the afternoon saying payment had been made. We assumed it would clear in a few days but it was actually in her account. So less than one week after returning her forms she has the money in her account ( we've just come back from checking her account) so this story is to urge you to fight and if you get blocked just push harder. You will probably win Xxxx0 -

Did you have any paperwork for these loans when you put the claim in and how long ago were the loans taken out?.
It is possible the redress was worked out on very limited information and not all banks give a breakdown.
You may get a breakdown but still not know if the redress is correct, you cannot contest without proof of what PPI you actually paid as you only get back what you paid.0 -

It does sound like the Bank have found limited records with which they have worked out the redress. This is allowed.
If I were her, I'd accept the unexpected windfall with good grace as it's money she thought was completely lost just a few years back...0
