Hi I've just had notification from rbs and Barclaycard that there was ppi on my credit cards. Each card had a balance of about £5k for 12 years. Am I on the way for a payout and from experience could it be much? Cheers
You need to have reasons for mis sell, just having had PPI does not mean you were mis sold.
Barclays and RBS need to look at your account and reasons for mis sell, if they say it was mis sold they then calculate the PPI you should not have paid and give this back with the 8%.

Thanks. I know I never asked for it and that I get 6 months full pay if I'm off sick and I've been in that job for the last 30 years.
Also how would I be able to tell what the ppi premiums were as they weren't show separately ever on my statements.
    Thanks

If you had PPI it should be on every statement.
I don't think they hide it in your monthly payment, have you no statements at all that show PPI?.
  • No nothing shows on my statements but they seem t accept I am paying it?
  • Sorry this is my first time posting and I wanted to ask a question. Has anyone heard of the latest thing that is if you opted out of SERPS you are entitled to money back?

Mightily surprised by the outcome of my claim.

    Reclaim: Loan
    Bank: Natwest
    Amount paid: £2269.33
Filled in reclaim form supported with PPI documents.

Am so happy! Did some major banking paperwork admin a while back, and came across 3 loans that I had taken out in 1997/98, and did not give any thought to if I paid PPI until I saw the paperwork. Thought "what the heck, it's only the cost of stamp" and submitted claims for each loan. Yesterday I received the outcome, and they upheld my complaint!! One of the few occasions where it actually paid for me to hoard paperwork!

    Attn: amersall.....

You very kindly reposted my post from back in September and nobody seems to have responded with any suggestions......so I thought I would repost both posts below to see if anybody has any suggestions on what way to go now. Much appreciated for your earlier help.

"Hi, I wonder if anyone can give me advice on which route to go down next. I have had a long drawn out claim with Lloyds Bank over mortgage PPI taken out with Cheltenham & Gloucester that dates back to 1996. Although Lloyds have admitted there was PPI on this loan, because the loan was taken out in joint names, they need to not only speak to myself, but also my then wife. She has now been my ex wife for over 14 years and I have no means of getting in contact with her. Lloyds state that because they are unable to contact her they are unable to proceed with the claim. I continued this claim with the financial ombudsman and they have also responded with the same points. I divorced my wife over 14 years ago. We settled in court with a full and final settlement. Also, why can't they continue the claim and use the same percentage discount they used on the mortgage that they did pay out on which was also in both of our names. It seems they are using an excuse for one so they don't have to pay out and the financial ombudsman is going along with Lloyds argument. Any expert views out there would be welcome. Cheers"

"Update.....I have just written to the Financial Ombudsman again vie email and informed them that I am not happy with there response and want them to look into it further. I can not understand why, when you have two different loans you are claiming for....(2 mortgages)...the second one they pay out for and retain 10% for my ex wife, should she claim at a later date, and yet they don't pay out on the first one and blame the issue being that they can't contact my ex wife for her side of the story.....????? "
Have bumped this again for you.
Did you send a copy of the full and final settlement to Lloyds?.

  • After looking at this site, I rang Lloyds Bank mid September this year to find out if we had ever had ppi on any products. Was told to go into my local branch, which we did. Received a print off with 5 different loans from 1989 to 1998 with account numbers and which stated 'with insurance' I then wrote to the ppi claims section and after completing a questionnaire with several 'unsures', today I received confirmation that £8282 is due to us! I also wrote to several other financial providers to ask if I had ppi and most have said no, but I am awaiting further investigation from Barclays for a Goldfish credit card from 1998.
