PPI Reclaiming successes and failures

I used telephone numbers from your site to contact Bank of Scotland, MBNA, Royal Bank of Scotland and Santander in relation to credit card and personal loan PPI. So far I have received in excess of £23000. I am still waiting for a response from Santander about a personal loan, however they have advised they are unable to offer anything in relation to my credit card as I don't have any statements from that account to provide enough information. Given that it was MBNA that contacted them as they were the original provider (yet MBNA have given a good will payment of £1000) I will be going to the ombudsman. Thanks so much for making it so easy by providing telephone numbers for all of the banks, i think I have spent a total of about 40 minutes on the phone (including their calls to me for a little more info).0

I have a current claim with Mbna over a credit card that was originally with Santander. I claimed through Santander firstly, fortunately i had old statements, in the letter which upheld my claim, they suggested I contact Mbna after 2003.0

Submitted a form to the bank for my OH's loan ppi. They have upheld the claim for the ppi on all the loans that were eventually consolidated into the current loan and he will received just over £9000.00 + an adjustment on the current loan. Strangely, they have declined the claim for the consolidation loan citing "insufficient evidence" that he did not need the ppi or that it was not pre-selected for him etc. Anyone have any views on what affect digging for some more info would have? Also, if the loan was taken out in 2007, could we request a copy of the original agreement?

I claimed in 2013 against the Halifax for PPI on a couple of loans back from 2001/2. They gave me about £200 which I was happy enough with. Then out of the blue last week I get another cheque off them for £830 saying they had reviewed their original decision which was in error, totally unprompted by me but a nice early Christmas present.Current MFD 1st July 2026
Target MFD 1st April 20230 -

We went through PPI claim with LTSB back in 2010 which we were paid £639.98 back.
My husband called 2 months ago as he believed this was incorrect, he was told 2 payments totalling £1700 were made and that was final.
They then sent a letter 2 weeks ago saying as the claim was rejected they had agreed with the Financial Services to revisit rejected claims. So filled out the form and had another letter saying, no they stand by their decision and that a payment of £2073 was sufficient and was split over 2 payments in May 2010 and June 2010 ?? We have only ever received £639.98 (21/06/2010) as per HSBC checking our accounts thoroughly.
He has called LTSB and they have told him the letter is wrong  and he questioned it as this is the second time a reference to 2 payments has been made. They have now referred him to the payments dept. who have no direct number !!!! This is a nightmare - they have admitted on 2 separate occasions that 2 payments should have been received but are now denying it. So they basically haven't paid £1400 - So Frustrated :exclamati0 -

When a business states that they are ''currently paying out on PPI complaints'' does that mean that they are auto paying without a full investigation?0

Attn: amersall.....
You very kindly reposted my post from back in September and nobody seems to have responded with any suggestions......so I thought I would repost both posts below to see if anybody has any suggestions on what way to go now. Much appreciated for your earlier help.
"Hi, I wonder if anyone can give me advice on which route to go down next. I have had a long drawn out claim with Lloyds Bank over mortgage PPI taken out with Cheltenham & Gloucester that dates back to 1996. Although Lloyds have admitted there was PPI on this loan, because the loan was taken out in joint names, they need to not only speak to myself, but also my then wife. She has now been my ex wife for over 14 years and I have no means of getting in contact with her. Lloyds state that because they are unable to contact her they are unable to proceed with the claim. I continued this claim with the financial ombudsman and they have also responded with the same points. I divorced my wife over 14 years ago. We settled in court with a full and final settlement. Also, why can't they continue the claim and use the same percentage discount they used on the mortgage that they did pay out on which was also in both of our names. It seems they are using an excuse for one so they don't have to pay out and the financial ombudsman is going along with Lloyds argument. Any expert views out there would be welcome. Cheers"
"Update.....I have just written to the Financial Ombudsman again vie email and informed them that I am not happy with there response and want them to look into it further. I can not understand why, when you have two different loans you are claiming for....(2 mortgages)...the second one they pay out for and retain 10% for my ex wife, should she claim at a later date, and yet they don't pay out on the first one and blame the issue being that they can't contact my ex wife for her side of the story.....????? Hi I've just had notification from rbs and Barclaycard that there was ppi on my credit cards. Each card had a balance of about £5k for 12 years. Am I on the way for a payout and from experience could it be much? Cheers0
