  • Thank you for such a quick reply

So this letter may just mean they are checking and possibly I have already bee paid correctly then. Well I suppose the good news is some people who maybe haven't been, will get something extra. So we'll done to Lloyds for at least contacting everyone. Let's hope some members get what They are due. Look forward to reading some success stories :T

MSE and the majority of people who have contributed to this thread over the years have been a constant source of inspiration for me and today, finally, I get to thank everyone. There have been many times when enquiring about PPI with the many various companies we've loaned from over the years when I felt disappointed with their outcome. We've been up to our ears in debt for so many years and it's been a long hard struggle, but the success stories on here made me plough on.
Today, First Direct agreed the PPI on three old loans had been mis-sold and have offered to refund me £5,655.00 in redress.
I can't tell you what a difference this will make to our lives. The truth is, but for people like Martin Lewis and those willing to share their stories, I would have never bothered to even try so my advice is, if, like me, you never thought you'd get anywhere with your claims keep going and investigate what you had via the letter templates on here. It really is either just a stamp and sometimes a phone call, but the fact is (whether some on here agree or not), some policies were mis-sold and for those cases, the money is there, waiting for you. Incidentally, also through MSE, I wrote to the RBS who today also sent a cheque for £747 for a Royalties Gold packaged Account that they agreed didn't benefit us. £900 has gone towards the debt we still owe so that's another chunk of debt repaid.
I've got others still to reply but I always said if just one was successful, I'd be very happy.
Thanks to Martin and the hundreds of posters on here - you don't realise how much your words have encouraged people like me.
Good luck to everyone waiting and - it's nice to actually look forward to the postman coming - not felt like that for a good 10 years!
  • Well done DavidMCR
I'm glad you've received you money back. May I wish you all the very best for the future

  • That's great, I received a letter from Natwest last Tuesday saying they were getting back to me with outcome of the investigation, how long did it take for them to get back to you? I have three other claims with NatWest which were submitted at same time but not heard anything yet, how long did it take from acknowledgement to settling your claim.

After filing in the forms around 2 weeks later I got a text stating they had reached and outcome and a letter would be with me within 10 days around 4 days after I got the letter that I had to sign and agree to sums given they stated they will text when signed letter received and process... I had 3 loans and 2 I had a repayment one stated they didn't agree that I had ppi on the account yet in previous correspondence they sent out it stated I had..

With RBS, you'll get a letter stating how much they will offer you, and a breakdown of the tax that will be deducted from the interest, and then you have to sign a declaration to say that you are accepting the offer, and post it back. Once they are in receipt of it, it will be within 28 days from the day they receive the declaration that you will get your money (and the interest paid will be recalculated so you're not losing out on any interest in the meantime.)

    Hi

This wasn't the case with mine. I just received my PPI claim after nearly 3 years of going through compliant processes and then FOS. I then just accepted the offer verbally with FOS and got a cheque within 28 days! Amazing! :T
