PPI Reclaiming successes and failures

Familiar story to report about Capital One. Completed their PPI form about 8 weeks ago and received my reply yesterday. They returned my original application clearly showing I had not opted for PPI, but, they also stated that I had requested PPI cover in a telephone call made at a later date that they had no record of!!
They rejected my claim stating, as far as I can make out, I needed it wether I wanted it or not.
I have now sent all details to the FO and am keeping my fingers crossed.0 -
I've successfully claimed for PPI on 2 rbs loans from 1998 and 1999, for which I had no paperwork anymore. I've also managed to get a claim started for PPI on an egg card I had going back to 2000. My friend has also found out HSBC outright lied when he took a loan out and put PPI on it when he told them he didn't want it. Please please check on your old loans and credit cards even if you have no paperwork and its more than 6 years. The banks have records and the money from my claims have helped me afford a new kitchen, planned for next year0

Glad you are all having some success, I'm still waiting to hear, initially a lady from Lloyd's rang in august, a they said they were satisfied with the outcome to which I appealed, I got a letter about 8 weeks or more ago to say it was being looked into, but I'm still waiting to here it's been 3 months now, is this normal? I'm going with the no news is good news lol0

Just another update.
Last week I received a letter in my name only, stating that I was entitled to a refund on mine and my husbands consolidated loans with Black horse, stating a cheque will arrive by the 8th December. The cheque arrived this morning.
We also both had separate letters each, saying that we are going to receive a further cheque each by 23rd December.
So it seems to me that when the original PPI in 2012 was looked into and refunded, each loan was looked at separately and not as consolidated loans.
All I can say is I'm over the moon0 -

Most Cap One PPI was sold post application via the phone. Cap One have a low uphold rate via the FOS although it has crept up in recent times. So, don't get your hopes up as more are rejected than upheld.
Although you don't say what your complaint was or what evidence exists to support it. So, its difficult to comment beyond the raw stat of rejections outnumbering uphold decisions.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
