But i dont know why you are so negative on peoples chances, let me put you straight as a novice... i have made 11 ppi complaints to barclays, hsbc mbna and natwest and 11 have been uplheld in some cases i have got £1500 godwill and in others around £800
so please do not tell people " you got no chance from 18 years ago"
EVERYONE IF YOU HAVE ANY PROOF, ANY STATEMENT, SEND IT TO WHOEVER SOLD IT TO YOU, YOU WILL GET PAID OUT, DONT LISTEN TO PEOPLE WHO PUT YOU OFF... YOU CAN GET YOUR MONEY BACK, KEEP COMPLAING, GO TO THE FOS, KEEPING CALLING THE FOS, STAY ON TOP !!
Your post has given me some hope as I have 3 loans with FOS from 1994 to 2000 with them. Co-operative Bank refunded my PPI from 2000 to 2006 but refused older loans due to insufficient evidence even though I received 2 credit agreements & 1 payment schedule following a SAR but also there was a loan application form showing my husbands occupation as HMF RAF & myself as a Civil Servant. It has been with FOS since January 2013 and other than an acknowledgement I've not heard anything back yet.0 -
What were you reclaiming: Loan
Who was the provider: NatWest
How much did you get back: £4035.22
Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: Letter
I got a £3000 loan out for a car in 2006 when I was 19, then in 2008 i 'topped it up' with another £2500. In 2012 I paid it all off and thought that was the end of it all.
I received a letter from RBS on January 18th, I had no idea that I had any PPI, so I answered everything honestly. The week after they rang me to go through more questions (at this point i thought i might be due something).
Today, the post came through with an offer of £4035.22. I'm gobsmacked, my loan was only small compared to others and thought that if I was due anything it might be a few hundred.
The one thing I would like to know now is how long does it usually take for RBS to process the payment? I know it says it will be with me within 28 days, but was wondering if anyone has received it any quicker.
Perked my Saturday right up! Honeymoon will now be sorted.0 -

The only thing to point out is that you may have two payments the interest and then the PPI premiums .
I was confused as to why the first payment (interest) was smaller amount refunded first and within two days the rest followed .
When I rang them they said it was common practise. Phew they had me worried for a short whileLight travels faster than sound.
This is why some people seem as bright until you hear them.0 -

Thanks for that, I would have been wondering myself, as I'm waiting for my payment now.
Well done joe86design, I too was very surprised and happy with my offer. Enjoy your honeymoon.0 -
Hi I apologise if this is a really stupid question, but when I put in my complaints for ppi, some of them were on joint loans /overdrafts but I complained in just my name as my husband was working away.... Would the pay outs I've received be just my half or would they be for the full amount entitled to us as a couple. Bit confused as have seen couple of posts stating that where the couple have been separated funds have been paid out to ex partners x0

I had major success with three loans I took out with Egg way back in 2002 and 2003. I have now been paid back £3603.45 (Less income tax on the interest, so £3317.93 net total) for PPI I didn't even know I had after making a persistent enquiry over the last 12 months! All good in the hood!Original Total: £34200.78 / Current Total: £24017.00 (July 2017) -29.88%!
DMP started March 2014. DFD: November 20250 -
I received a letter out of the blue from my old bank, explaining about PPI, and had to complete a form to claim.
I have today received my offer letter and it's a whopping £16,563.47. Am I accepting it, definately:rotfl:
I'm still in shock, never in a million years did I expect the figure to be so high.
Some will definitely go towards paying off my mortgage.
I'm going to enjoy myself, thank you 'old bank':T:T0 -
had my Appeal approved by FOC against HFC Bank:j
only for a lowly £1200 compared to some on here but very happy
took nearly three years but still worth the battle0 -
Who: Natwest
What: loans
When: 1999, 2000 and 2002
How: form off Natwest website
Amount: £4928.50 gross / £4475.71 net
Whilst having a clear out a couple of weeks ago I found a copy of an old NatWest loan agreement from 2002. I went onto their website to find who I needed to contact to put a claim in and found they already had their own forms, so I filled them in & sent them off with copies of my paperwork. A week later I had a telephone call wanting to discuss this and 2 other loans from 1999 & 2000!!! ( I'd forgotten all about these ) I was asked why I wanted to claim and why I had waited so long to do it. I just explained that I hadn't claimed before now because I hadn't got the paperwork but now that I'd found it I wanted to claim.
I was told they would investigate the matter and let me know.
Received 3 letters this morning, all with offers totaling £4475.71 net of tax.:j
I would recommend anyone to send a claim form in - even if it is from 15 years ago - it worked for me!
It now means I treat myself to a new car for my birthday this year instead of waiting/saving till next year!£10 a day challenge £349.01/£3650
