PPI Reclaiming successes and failures

I have just had a further success with a claim against Black Horse and have sent back my acceptance letter for £4890 ! I claimed originally 4 years ago on this account from 2005 and received £2560 but this was only the rebate for paying off the loan early which I had not received at the time ! I was so excited to receive this I quickley accepted but when I looked into it further I had not been reimbursed for my premiums throughout the loan ! I have been chasing this since 2011 as I had signed the full and final offer I was begining to think I would not have my premiums refunded ! I had taken my claim to the Finance & Leasing Association and also took advice from my lawyer who all said as I had signed for the full & final offer for the £2560 and I could not claim any more ! I had been reading that there had been had been measures announced on 10th August 2012 in a policy paper setting out the FSA Regulators finalised guidance on handling and redressing consumer complaints about PPI mis-selling. "The original proposals included a rule requiring firms to review all PPI mis-selling complaints they have rejected since 2005. Re-opened complaints were to be reassessed and any compensation calculated according to new guidance aimed at ensuring firms gave complaints fair and balanced consideration."
I sent my last and final attempt at claiming back my PPI premiums on the 15th August and received my letter with the offer of £4890 on the 27th August !
At long last but definately worth the time and effort !0 -
Thank you for providing excellent and straightforward advice which I have fillowed closely and as a result of simply doing my research in my old files and completing the template letter I have been offered 7k from the Halifax for a claim against my 10 year old TMPP. Delighted and all the closer to being debt free.0

A goodwill gesture is an amount they will pay to conclude your claim, it could be that they don't have any proof of all PPI payments paid and want to settle without upholding for mis sell.
Barclays will take as long as they want to so if you think it will be a long time and you get a result fast then you won't be disappointed.0 -

I have been waiting 9 weeks so far for Barclays to calculate mine and I have been told it might take 12-16 weeks so you have a long wait I am afraid0 -
Reclaimed loans (4 over last eight years) and Mortgagesure (paid for 20 years) both with Lloyds TSB. We got over £15,500 back. Weused Stake your Claim – they charge 12% plus VAT and they are super- efficient.Disappointed though that we can’t give HMRC back their money in a lump sum andit has to go via PAYE (this is for the 8% interest Lloyds have given us).
Still disappointed that after being a Lloydscustomer for 25 years that we have had to take this action because of them making us believe we had to have the cover and also us having the cover on the loan and knowing nothing about it.

What were you reclaiming: Loan
Who was the provider: AA finance/ BOS
How much did you get back: £1950
Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: Form from MSE
And then write your brief reclaim tale:
After learning that a friend had made a successful ppi claim I checked old paperwork and I too had paid ppi ( loan-guard) on a loan from 2004. My reason for being mis sold was that the ppi was included in the quote with no mention of costs of loan with or without ppi. I waited patiently for 7 weeks and have just received a letter to say the claim has been upheld. Should get a cheque within 28 days. I am delighted.0 -
Hi guys regarding my girlfriends HOF ACCOUNT CARD:
Santander rejected a PPI claim from a 1995 HOF account card (GECARD). Closing lines say they are members of the Finance and Leasing association and I may write to them to consider - do I appeal to them or are they still covered by the financial ombudsman and direct it to them instead.
Any help appreciated0 -
