hi could anyone tell me the ppi address or telephone number of morgan and stanley as i had a goldfish card in 2006 which was closed the same year
    many thanks

They were both taken over by Barclaycard, address is:
    Customer Relations Team
    PO Box 9131
    51 Saffron Road
    Leicester
    LE18 9DE
Good luck with this. I claimed for PPI on a Morgan Stanley card now with the FO, and it's an understatement to say they are dragging their feet with my Goldfish claim! I think they have the worst reputation for dealing with PPI. On a phone call to them the other day to chase a decision on a Goldfish card (almost a year now!) they bemoaned the fact that they are fined each time a complaint is made to the FO..

Hi just looking for some advice please. My ppi claim has been rejected but I am sure the company had used the pre ticked method that was practiced a long time ago. Could I write to them again saying this or do I have to contact the FO. Any advice would be fab cause now I am stumped.

    What were you reclaiming:
    Credit Card PPI
    Who was the provider: Barclaycard/Barclays
How much did you get back: They said I'm due £7822.41
Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: I rang B/card, filled out their form and sent it off. They approved my payment, but seem to be refusing to pay it now. I have an Ombudsman form to send off today.

I have posted in another forum, but I would like to try and warn as many people as possible NOT to trust Barclaycard not to loose, misapropriate, and misuse your bank details, so the more coverage this story can get, the better.

Below is what I have posted elsewhere on these forums:

I contacted Barclaycard, and received a claim form, for the mis-selling of PPI. I completed it and sent it back to them. What seemed like an age later, they sent me a letter (5.3.13 dated 27.2.13) saying that they had upheld my complaint and will pay me back nearly £8000. Not a piddly amount. All I had to do was to fill out an acceptance form, with my details and bank details, and they would process it and pay me within 4 weeks.

I returned the form via courier (perks at work!), and they received and signed for my details on the 7.3.13. On the 27.3.13 I received another acceptance form as they said they hadn't received my first one. I rang them and then this all started. They claim not to have recieved my first form. I complained and got a girl, Angela, running around trying to locate my completed form. There was at one stage that Angela needed the consignment/parcel number from me, so she rang my home number (not my work one which they have) and got my son on the telephone. She didn't take him through any security questions, and discussed my claim freely with him. So I rang and complained. Nothing was done, no apology nothing. Still no form. I spoke to a friend who is a solicitor and he contacted Barclaycard on my behalf (after me giving up ringing on a weekly basis) and he was told that I had to send my details again. This I did, they were received and signed for on 1.5.13. I have spoken to Barclaycard on the 2.5.13 & today 3.5.13, they have said that they haven't received my second form either. The lady today, Sonia/Sophie, said that if I didn't send in another form with all my details on, they would cancel my payment and not pay me what they have fraudualently taken from me in the first place.

I have put in a complaint to Barclaycard themselves, they said they would either ring me or contact me within 5 working days. That was on the 12.4.13 (I think, not got all my dates with me at work), I have received nothing from them at all. I have also printed a compaint form from the Ombudsman, to which I will send off over the weekend, as I need to check a few things first.

Does anyone know if Barclaycard can not pay me what they owe? Where do I go from here? Please help, anyone, I am desperate now, I just don't know where to turn.

    Yours hopefully....Zena

Zena just send another form - I presume you did actually send it again and not just waste your time on complaining (which can wait). When sending a reply to a big office with massive postal receipts every day I would never have used a courier when they have simply given you a form and (presumably) a pre-paid envelope. Because you sent it differently, your form would probably not have been identified for what it was and probably was been signed for by a receptionist and then misdirected as it was just a piece of paper - whereas just posting it would have meant their pre-paid envelopes would have all gone to the same place.

You'd have been paid by now if you'd just posted that first form using the envelope with the reference on it - and they are not refusing to pay you!

I have just got my offer and I am about to send my form back to accept it, here are the details:

What were you reclaiming: PPI on mortgage from 18 years ago where we paid PPI for seven years
Who was the provider: Alliance & Leics (Santander now)
How much did you get back: Offer just received for £2000 plus £2400 interest!

I applied direct (I only had the dates and original mortgage a/c number).

Took about 2 months to get this offer and they did also send me a letter in April apologising for the delay, so they handled this well.

I did send another form, which they received on Wednesday. I did send it back in the pre-paid envelope, with the courier sticker on the reverse. I did this because I know how much goes missing in the mail, working for a mail order company. So it went to the mailroom looking for all the world like any other of their letters they receive, as did the one they signed for on Wednesday.

I was told by an advisor this morning, that if I didn't send my details for the third time, then my payment would be cancelled and I wouldn't be able to claim it again.

This evening, I have again spoken to Barclaycard, and I had just said to the advisor that my next move would be to say that I would be contesting the amount payable. And hey presto, as if by magic my details were on the system. They have now told me my payment has been escalated and should be with me shortly.

I have now also listed a complaint with the PPI department, Barclaycard complaint section, and am finishing a form from the Ombudsman. I have also requested written confirmation as to where my first lot of details are.

    Thankyou for your response!!

    Hello all!

I have been watching these forums for a while and thought its time to share met story.

It all started when I received a letter from mbna in January saying I could of been missold ppi. They enclosed a questionnaire that I kept putting off filling out until my OH said he had checked online and it seemed legit so ff it went to mbna. After a couple of weeks I got a phone call asking me what my employment status was when I applied for he card (director of my own company) and I thought that was that. Within a week I received a offer of over 5,000.00 and the cheque two days later.

Then I sent for forms to capital one, egg and a letter to Barclays asking if I had ever had ppi.

So far capital one said no I was employed at the time egg have sent a letter upholding my case and will send a cheque for jus over 4,000 and arc lays s the strangest I've ha so far 6 different reference numbers and fos forms sent to me for different products last night I asked them what one of the forms was for and if they had an update one the other cases (loans and barclaycard) the lady told me 2 of the complaints had been upheld so far and the others being investigated and last week the credited my bank account with a figure she would not disclose. Obviously I flew down to the bank andi can see over 8,000 has been tranfered in.

So I can advise people like me who watch the forums to sendin at least a letter. So far I am 17,000 better off and still counting.

My husband has not been so lucky mbna said he ticked a box on a postal application and that there was a cooling off period none of which we can remember from 1998 but hey we're still doing alright

    :)

they wrote to me in Feb, saying I might have a claim. Sent me a form (the standard FOS one) filled it in and posted back. 6 weeks later had letter back to saying I had been missold and this is what I was going to receive. Sent me a letter on 10 April saying allow 20 working days to receive cheque---it arrived yesterday :j :j

This is exactly what happened to me. I knew I had a potential claim against EGG but assumed I wouldn't be able to get much back and the whole claim confused me so I decided not to bother. However they wrote to me themselves last month and I decided I had nothing to lose so completed the form and sent it off.

However, reading this thread (idiot than I am, should have read it before sending!!!), I realise that I didn't provided much evidence. I said that I signed up for the loan online and PPI wasn't mentioned. I also stated that some months later, I had contacted them about it questioning the fees and had been told that it was a condition of the loan, and stated that I had critical illness insurance. I was also employed in the public sector with a very good redundancy package.

BUT...I didn't send anything to support this. Can I ask if you did? Would they have expected evidence of critical illness insurance? I very much doubt they would still have recording of my call from 2006. I think I -stupidely again- assumed that if THEY were contacting me, they were more likely to process it in my favour, but I'm now wondering if I should have done more. I sent it only on Wednesday, would you guys advise to forward evidence of critical illness or will my application be enough?
