Cancel your contract with them before you do anything.
Might be worth going to see if they're still where they're supposed to be.
I would but i live in Cumbria lol. I will email to cancel my contract and keep a copy just incase. Just feel bad that i've had to wait so long without hearing anything at all.2010 competition wins: (Jan) Rimmel self tanning lotion, CKfree aftershave0 -
you've waited years so far, a few months won't hurt.
Make sure you get an acknowledgement for your cancellation, and be aware, you might have to pay a fee.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0 -
.RBS have just declined my PPI claim and I wondered has anyone gone to the Ombudsman about them and if you have what was the outcome. How hard or easy is it to go to the Ombudsman. Any help would be much appreciated.[/QUOT
My claim was rejected with Barclaycard last June. I sent a letter to the FOS in July and am still waiting. So far I have had 2 letters stating they have a backlog and are dealing with things but nothing positive so far!0 -
Thanks charlotte1970. I wonder if anyone could give me any examples that they have used to go to the FSO. I'm not too sure what kind of evidence they will be looking for. I'm surprised that they declined it because when my hubby went self employed THEY sold him a sickness and unemployment policy. H
ave had this policy for over 15 years, to me they are charging twice for the same thing.0 -
Two successful ppi complaints to date, 5 still pending:-
M&S- goodwill offer accepted of £256.00 Dec 2012
Barclaycard- complaint upheld full refund plus interest total £245.52.
Not massive amounts but every little helps !! Thank you MSE for the advice, templates etc.:)
More success to report:-
Barclays Bank , my OH has received letter today , complaint upheld , £2250 to be deducted from his loan balance and £612.00 interest cheque attached to letter!!!
I thought this was worth mentioning as I've read a few posts about people waiting ages simply for their cheques from Barclays , it seems that they are now sending the cheques with the offer letter ,or did at least in this case, whole process took 5 weeks.
Thanks again MSE:j0 -
Certainly - started my claim verbally first week of February, and they wrote to me with ombudsman forms few days later & said they'd have decision by 8th - 10th April, can't remember the exact date but it was due by start of next week.
My claim with Barclaycard has taken nearly a year so far! It's been with the FOS since last July!0 -
Received just over £10K (including interest) paid direct into my bank account from Lloyds a few days ago relating to PPI on various loan taken out years ago. It's all thanks to this website and took just one recorded delivery letter using the template form.
However, Lloyds still don't seem to understand or accept that they have mis-sold PPI and have only refunded the difference between the cost of the PPI and a "regular premium PPI policy". It's still an awesome result and I didn't have to go to the FOS. I also didn't lose any money to a claims handler; there really is no need to use one of these - all the information you need is on this website.0 -
Will try and keep a long story brief.
Had an Open University Beneficial Bank Card in 1989 with PPI. Since that time card changed bank several times.
Wrote to Beneficial Bank in 2011 and was offered around £300 (from HFC) which I was reluctant to accept as thught it a very low offer but it was before PPI refunds got well under way after the court case.
Card ended up with MBNA (although under a different number). They had only had it a few months when I closed the account - about 2009. They refunded me 90p and said they were passing this on to the previous bank to deal with. They wrote to me end of last year and said that this had been overlooked and were dealing with it. I had not given it any more thought.
I then received a letter from HFC Bank offering me £860, which I accepted in February 2013. As I heard nothing further I rang them to see when money would be credited and they said it had been actioned on 5th March and they would find out where the money had gone (now 3rd April). They woulod call back. They didn't. Rang again last friday. Told to ring someone else. I did so and they said that the offer had been wrong as they had paid me £300 in 2011 so they would send out a revised offer deducting this. Haven't heard anything more.
If this is the same card why did they only offer me £300 in 2011? They now have all the figures going back to 2002. What about the previous 13 years?
Are they still messing me about or do I just have to accept this?0 -
I have just received a letter from FOS saying that they had upheld my claim against Capital One which Capital One had declined in September last year. Do you know if Capital One try to fight these initial judgements or do they usually just pay. Also does anyone know how long it takes from this stage. Cap One have up to 26th April to respond0
