It wasn't on any statements I had from what I can recall so it doesn't appear on all statements.

If I hadn't requested a SAR then there's no way I'd have known I'd been missold as MBNA added it in without my knowledge so you're wrong there.
How can you say it wasn't on your statements?
PPI appears on all credit card statements where the card has a balance, if it wasn't on statements then you didn't pay it on that particular month. If it never appeared at all, then you can't have paid any at all.
  • I just got back £6300 from RBS for loans. The reasons I gave was

I believed the PPI was compulsory
There was no mention of questions about the policy
    I never needed PPI.

At the same time I found out that I had it on my Natwest credit card, I never remembered it being on and in the haze of memory thought it might have been the same sort of meeting as the loans. They have denied it and showed that if I filled out an online registration and included in the mail. I never remembered ticking the PPI box. Do i have any recourse with the ombudsman or is it case closed?

Your loan complaint was weak and it sounds like the Bank may have identified other faults with the sale of that PPI during the investigation of your complaint. Since the Banks don't divulge the reason for upholding complaints, you'll never know for sure.

So, it doesn't necessarily follow that, because your loan complaint was upheld, your credit card concerns will be similarly successful. Indeed, it sounds as if your credit card was applied for online which means it was a "non-advised" sale in which you mis-bought rather than were mis-sold.

You are still entitled to refer your complaint, but your chances are slim.
  • Yes, if they were going to off set you would have already have been informed by now. Enjoy your redress.

    Thank you.

I am just amazed at how easy it was. Just a 5 minute phone call. They sent some forms but i didnt even fill them in, i just got the offer a month later! Cant help but be curious. Like i said, we never get lucky!
  • Really?
FOS are taking as long as EIGHTEEN MONTHS for everyone else!
My MBNA complaint took 6 months to be upheld by FOS. Waiting for MBNA again now to settle

From my previous post, approx number 16300! I got a cheque from Halfax for £500, for an old CC.

Just waiting for Direct Line, should be sometime next month for an inital letter, as I initally sent it to an incorrect address....

I did say up to eighteen months. Hopefully, the queue length will lessen as extra staff are recruited by FOS.

My original point was that Claim Companies have no way of jumping the FOS queue no matter how long it is.

Thanks for the response. I guess it does not really matter if the box we pre-ticked it was non advised and I did not untick it, Guess not worth going to FOB. I honestly did not want or need it, oh well.
  • What were you reclaiming: Loan
    Who was the provider: Lloyds
How much did you get back: £8500
Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: one phonecall
And then write your brief reclaim tale I rang Lloyds at the end of Nov 12 using the number on this site. They located my loan details (from 1997) as I had no paperwork. I got a phonecall a week before christmas asking my details such as how much sick pay I get, what my death benefit is for my husband etc, then yesterday I got a letter and payment into my account for just under £8500. Im totally over the moon. Didnt even cost me the price of a stamp.:T:T

    Excellent news! :j

This is very similar to my claim, with similar timescales too but I've only this week had the further info phone calls from Lloyds. Can I ask what were your complaint reasons?
