  • Hi there have just received a letter from nram stating that i may be eligible for redress re:loan . they have stated that if any money owed it will just be deducted from total loan amount owed. do i need to accept this or can i push for it to be in cash or cheque form.
    thankyou
  • Hi, im new on here but thought I would share my story with you. I took out a loan with GE money in 2004, the loan was paid off in 2007 when I sold my house. I have recently complained to them about the PPI on my account which was £2750.00. They responded very quickly with a letter saying that they are going to pay back £5160.00. I never thought I would get anything back as I have never been that lucky, so you can imagine my excitement when I received the letter on Christmas Eve!! I had to return a form with my bank details on, so now I am just waiting for it to appear in my bank account. And it is all thanks to Martins template letters and advice, I just followed the steps as on his website, so thanks very much!! If anyone is reading this and thinking about doing it, print off the template letters from this site and get them in the post, you only have a stamp to lose, but could gain so much!! Good luck

It's just like a written paragraph, then it says if happy we do not have to do anything, and they will send cheque by 30 days.

I have received a response from Genworth saying that they are awaiting a settlement letter from Santander in respect of my store card. I have had this card since March 1996 what sort of figure can i expect as I cannot find a calculator.

    Thanks

do mind letting me know when you started your complaint with Genworth. I had a letter before Christmas stating they were waiting to get details of the premiums paid (not a settlement letter unfortunately:() from Santander but have heard nothing since.

Mine were taken out in the mid to late 90's as well.

As far as calculations go it really is down to the total premiums you have paid. I do not believe you get any extra interest apart from the standard 8% but I am sure someone will correct me if i'm wrong. ;)

I also had a letter from Genworth saying they were waiting for details from Santander of prmiums paid . My card was taken out instore at HOFraser 2001 & is still live. I sent mine onto FOS as Santander declined claim. Hope we all have good outcome after wait. Good luck folks.;)
  • Mine has taken no time at all really, a couple of months. They say they have calculated premiums from 1996 to 2011. I just wondered if it was likely to be hundreds or maybe thousands (not kkkkks) but just wanted an idea.

There has always been a balance on the card.

  • I have been trying to persue a smallish claim through Lloyds Tsb for a credit card I got back in 2001.

They have written to me to me telling that I didnt have payment protection on this account and that the claim is now closed.

Looking back in the paperwork that Lloyds sent with me (from SAR letters) the account paperwork I signed has 'asset payment protection' and this shows on the statements as 'cardholder protection plan'.

Is this still classed as PPI? The claim is only about £170 not huge I know - do you think its worth sending the copies of the paperwork to them ( I didnt send it in the first place as it was Lloyds that gave to me so I assumed they wouldnt need me to send it) highlighting card holder proctection payments and asking them to take a second look? Do I send it the ombudsman? or do I file it and stop flogging a dead horse?

I also have other complaints being processed all by Lloyds and I dont want prejudice any further possible refunds.

    Thanks in anticipation

You need to find out what this insurance was, it may have just covered loss or theft of the card and is not PPI, if you find out what it covered and you did not need this then put a claim in for mis sell.

They are saying "you may be eligible " this is a standard letter and if you get redress and there are no arrears on this loan, they will give you the option of having this paid direct to you, if there are arrears then they can take those off the loan and give you any surplus, if there is any.
