PPI Reclaiming successes and failures

hi all, i have had several loans and credit cards over the last 8 years and all are paid off. I am chasing the possible ppi and have called them up individually and they have all said i didnt have ppi on them.
I didnt expect that i had it on the loans as i remember declining it as was in the air force. I was never offered it on the cards though so thought it might have been on there. Should I trust what they are telling me or do something else?
cheers

Hi all, I'm really in need of advice..
Ok so I contacted natwest regarding miss sold ppi on a loan I took out in 2008 and that im still paying. I have received a response saying, we did sell you a policy but you cancelled within the cooling off period and they claim I had a full refund. I have no idea what they are talking about, how can I cancel something I didn't even know I had.. I called them to explain and they said they would look in to this and contact me.. Today I have received a letter with the cancelation details.. It's just a print out of the ppi, it states single ppi of £8618 over 84 months on a loan amount of £25000. And they claim a refund of this amount was made.. My question is where did this refund go. As at the moment I'm paying:£458 over 84= £38,472. Deduct the ppi refund they claim I had would have been £29,854 £355 over 85= £355.. Is it possible they did cancel the policy but I never received the refund and therefore paying the wrong amount for the last 5 years..
Really hope somebody can advise me on this as I'm really confused
Thanks in advance

Hi All just had to register my first success, I started this process at the start of November having been inspired by everyone on this site. Have just been refunded £2200 by Santander for an A & L mortgage taken out back in 2003.
Got an offer on 5th Dec and accepted and posted back recorded delivery same day, money in my bank today Happy Days :j I have to say a HUGE :T to Sandander they have been simple and efficient to deal with, I had no details as paid off in 2005 but one phone call and they did it all (Shame have to give half to ex!)
Now to waiting on Monument, Barclaycard, Capital One, Lloyds, Halifax, Tesco and FSCS (freedom finance) - thought I would tackle all of them as had a spinal tumour in 1999 prior to having all these loans/cards and working for a local authority as a teacher with great sick benefits always argued not needed and always told it was essential to get the loan. Fingers Crossed :beer:0 -

Don't forget you are also paying interest on the 25,000, and it'll be more than 4,000.
Phone them up and ask them to show you your repayment figures before and after the 'refund'Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0 -
so can anyone pass an opinion as to whether or not i should beleive them all saying i didnt have it?
thanks0 -
I will do, thanks Taff, just something seems odd somewhere and it's driving me mad, it's the issue of the refund that's puzzling me0

If you know you wouldn't have had it on the loans, then yes, believe them. To check whether it's on the cards, look at a statement. If you don't have statements, think you might have had it and can throw away some money, send a SAR and £10 to each company you had an account with and look.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0 -
I originally sent a letter printed from this website a few years ago to reclaim a personal loan ppi. It was rejected, but had a letter today saying they are going to ay out plus interest. This is with nationwide building society0
