Put a complaint into the MOJ, these need stopping.
Put a letter in writing to this company, get your Dad to sign it and send it recorded delivery, put that you want to cancel the contract with them and ask for a refund, and you are contacting the claims regulator, see what they come back with.
Let the Claims regulator know about the fee they wanted too.
Did your Dad pay this by Credit card? if he did get him to contact the card company and ask for a charge back, tell them why and that you have contacted the claims regulator, hopefully they should give the
    money back.
Let me know how you get on.

thanks beccca, my two card were taken out at the same time but after refusal from BC i sent them to FOS unfortunately one lot of paperwork got mislaid so i had to resend, ( process for second claim was started 3 months later) i did notify FOS i had taken them out at the same time so i am assuming my paperwork from BC reflected that and thats why they say BC have to redress both cards, hoping BC do not take this further and just redress, lets hope youa re getting close to good news and of course keep us posted

Called the FOS again, still no news, they still keep saying 18 months, its been with them for 14 months now so only another 4 to go, might hear back by easter!

This morning the loan balance has gone up to £5588 but nothing has gone into our current account. I assume this means they put the interest into the loan account yesterday and have now taken it out again but have not yet paid it into our current account. I wish they would make their minds up!!
Well this morning the loan balance still stands at £5588 but now they have put £5943.66 into our current account :j - I suppose the loan balance will be worked out at some point, we just have to await a letter. The interest on it still hasn't been paid and that is supposed to be paid first. O well, no doubt it will all turn up in the end. We were able to pay off a supplier just now who has been very patient (we have been expecting very nasty letters for ages) and best of all the supplier said we are not even on credit stop ("but please don't let it build up like that again"). We had been sourcing some things from retail outlets rather than wholesalers because we owed that wholesaler so much and couldn't pay.

O K ! Thanks your advise, as soon as I hear or reply from them I let you know.

    Thanks.

May I ask the different between Payment Protection Insurance (PPI) and Business Loan Repayment Insurance (BLRI), are they the same thing, because I recevied the letter from Lloydstsb for claiming (PPI) and they reject the claim, reason is the information I provided with the complaint and they search their system with historical records that this loan account did not take out a Payment Protection Insurance policy (PPI), so they cannot investigate the complaint any further. By the time I send the form to Lloydstsb, I did not search the old record box that which I find the (BLRI) certificate on it. so please do tell me are (PPI) and (BLRI) is the same policy.
They do say if I believe their records are incorrect and have further evidence to indicate that I purchase a PPI. provide to them as soon as possible and they will be happy to investigate. so anyone with the experience please advice me what to do next. Thanks
  • Hi All , my partner had a claim refused in April and with some help from this site we were advised to ask them to review it in June with some additional info.
We chased it at the beginning of November and were told it was being reviewed and that we would receive a letter within 2 weeks. No letter so we phoned and were told today that they didnt review it at all and that it was up to us to forward to Ombudsman , So the basically have wasted over 7 months of our time , can they get away with this? Thanks for any thoughts.

I don't think they're deliberately wasting time, it's more likely your complaint got stuck in the massive backlog that is their re-investigation queue. If you were told initially that it was being reviewed then most likely it was worked but either they're sticking to the original decision or they're still working on it. Although it's been 7 months try contacting the Ombudsman anyway, just let them know that you did give Barclaycard a chance to re-investigate and they have still not given you a new response.
