I'd like to claim for a store card rather than a credit card. Could someone point me in the right direction please of the forms I need?

Just use the same form as you would for a Loan or Credit card.

Hi all, I'm really in need of advice..

Ok so I contacted natwest regarding miss sold ppi on a loan I took out in 2008 and that im still paying. I have received a response saying, we did sell you a policy but you cancelled within the cooling off period and they claim I had a full refund. I have no idea what they are talking about, how can I cancel something I didn't even know I had.. I called them to explain and they said they would look in to this and contact me.. Today I have received a letter with the cancelation details.. It's just a print out of the ppi, it states single ppi of £8618 over 84 months on a loan amount of £25000. And they claim a refund of this amount was made.. My question is where did this refund go. As at the moment I'm paying:£458 over 84= £38,472. Deduct the ppi refund they claim I had would have been £29,854 £355 over 85= £355.. Is it possible they did cancel the policy but I never received the refund and therefore paying the wrong amount for the last 5 years..

Really hope somebody can advise me on this as I'm really confused

    Thanks in advance

    Nat
You need the statements of the loan from start date and the agreement, the PPI should have come off the loan balance after the cancellation, you should just be paying back the loan monthly amount, try and get this info and then you will know if the PPI was taken off, if it was not then you need this back and the loan reset.
  • Hi

Have had a couple of successful ppi complaints upheld and paid out through help from this site. Many thanks to all that post!
However having submitted a ppi complaint recently to Black Horse for a car loan i took out, they have written back to say i did not have ppi on this loan.
Having looked at the paperwork it is split into two sections, the car loan amount and a box that says 'insurance'-If this isnt ppi what would it be??
Letter says i can complain to FOS if not happy with result but would they say i didnt have it even if i did (ie a mistake-not saying they'd lie)
    Thanks

Did the dealer sell you some form of insurance and charge it to the car loan? Car dealers are infamous for this.

I currently have just had a complaint rejected by Lloyds TSB.

I complained about a PPI taken against a credit card. Initially I complained stating that I had been sold it over the phone after taking out the card. They have stated that I took out the policy in branch.

Now its over 8 years ago but I do remember getting a phonecall regarding taking out PPI - funny how certain things stick in your mind. I did though at the time have 2 other credit cards so it could well have been relating to one of those.

I have gone through all my old statements that I requested and have just now noticed that the first time the PPI was applied to my account the card number on the statement changed. I remember initially having a standard credit card and it then being changed to a Platinum one as it had a better rate. I know am sure that the PPI must have been added when the card was upgraded.

Shall I write back to LLoyds stating that I may have got it wrong about how it was sold and the info I have since discovered or shall I refer straight to FOS?.

well, only if you are really sure otherwise you're going to make another complaint about it having been added, and if you're wrong again, your chances at the FOS will be almost zero.

Thing is I cant be sure as it was 2002!. Im only going by what I have come across looking through the old statements. Lloyds dont hold any further info pertaining to the sale other than I took it out in branch and I dont remember doing that. I do though remember my card being upgraded at some point and that ties in with the number on the card changing at the same time the PPI was started.

Six months after the PPI was added I was working for my families company and then went self employed, hence me initialising the complaint that I was sold the PPI and never informed that if my circumstances changed the policy may not be suitable.

To be honest, your complaint is terminally flawed if you cannot decide (or remember) how it was mis-sold to you. It matters little whether you had the PPI applied over the 'phone or in the branch, the point is that the Bank has to have mis-sold it to you. From what you have said, there doesn't appear to have been a mis-sale. If, as you suspect, the PPI was added when you upgraded to the Platinum card this does not change the status of your rejected complaint!
What you need to look at is not your old statements, but the reasons the Bank gave for not upholding the concerns you expressed. If you disagree with these reasons, then refer to FOS.
