Hi all, Barclays have just paid £1600 into my account, I'm waiting for the letter but they have said this is a goodwill jesture......my claim is against £60k mortgage over 10 years and by my calculations I should be looking at £20k.......are there any standard letters to reject the offer?

How do you work 20K on a mortgage of 60K on 10 years?

Going by your previous thread and what dunstonh posted you should take what they are offering.

A goodwill gesture can be revoked and you could end up with nothing.
  • Had a dreaded Endownment mortgage with Abbey National (now Santander), in 2003 when endownments went belly up, I changed to repayment mortgage and lost £26000.

My partner at the time, contacted them to claim back and complain and settled at £3000,

I now tried to claim back my PPI from them and after 13 months, they said yesterday that the payment made in 2003 was the full and final payment??? it appears that from me claiming back my PPI they have slipped into thinking Im claiming back the endownment, and dont want to entertain it anymore.

Is the endownment and the PPI the same thing??? or am I to get back to them and ask for the PPI again,

Also I am claming back the PPI from Barclaycard and I sent them one of my old bills and have rang them millions of times given them my account number and they say it doesnt exist and I was never a customer, I sent them the copy of the barclaycard statment and they are still adamant that I never had an account with them, I gave them all my past address'ess where I was a Barclaycard customer and they say that they have all other Barclaycard customers names registered at the address's ( my parents and brother and sister) but I was never a customer????? Are they also leading me a merry dance. I have gone to the the Ombudsman, but while Im on here, I thought Id ask if anyone else has been messed around like me by BArclay card when they say you were never a customer.
  • Time from complaint to delivery of cheques ...7 weeks , and they contacted me first :T:T:T:xmassign::xmassmile:xmassign::xmassign:
  • I have just received nearly £7,000 from Lloyds TSB !
I downloaded the template letter from Martins website and sent it recorded delivery .Altogether it took about 6 weeks for them to reply and refund the money.
I can't tell you how much this money means to me - i've struggled for YEARS .Now i have set up a savings account and treated myself to a few things desperately needed.
THANKYOU SO MUCH MARTIN LEWIS ,without you i never would have dreamed in a million years this was possible :money::money::money::beer:
  • Thank you so much to everyone who has posted and given me the support to reclaim my Lloyds loan ppi. To be fair to Lloyds they have been excellent and Christmas landed in my bank account yesterday. Has cleared my debts and left money in the bank. Thank you to all
  • What were you reclaiming:A loan

Who was the provider: Tesco FInance

How much did you get back: £3983.34 including interest

Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: No way was I using a claims management company! I was too lazy to print out a form and found a website called ppi-claim-support.com (not sure of i'm allowed to put a link), but anyway you can fill out the ombudsman's questionnaire form online and they send it to you completed in the post. they also have question by question instructions if you get stuck on a question with tips and advice blah blah blah. it's so easy I cannot understand why the ombudsman is not doing this.

My advice is to just do it. i didnt think i would get a penny, but i'm so blimmin happy right now!:beer
  • thank you for this website, this is what inspired me to claim

  • Having read various sucess stories, I decided to see if I could reclaim PPi from HFC bank on a loan I took out in 1999. Firstly I was encouraged -no -persuaded to increase the loan to include a credit card repayment. The total loaned was £2.000. They then started taking PPI, which I didnt ask for, as I was employed by NHS and would have been paid for 12 months if off sick, I had previous health problems (which they didnt ask me about) and then used the loan as a credit card. so in effect I exchanged one credit card for another. To cut a long story short, I filled in your claim form and sent them all the statements I had kept on November 5th 2012. Today I recieved a offer of £6,483.27. What a nice Christmas suprise.
Thank You Martin for the confidence to claim, I would recommend claiming to everyone!!!:T
