Thank you so much, i feel i was mis sold it as was not told it was optional, nor was it explained to me at all i just assumed was a neccesity for taking the loan - what is meant by front loaded??
Many thanks
When you look at your loan agreement hun, there will be the total amount of the loan & a total amount for the PPI added together as the opening balance for the loan, if effect they are lending you the money for the ppi.
Hun we are so happy to be here to help. :A:A0 -
sadiejp, I don't know if this is of any help to you hun. Its a link to Martins PPI reclaiming guide. Its has all the template letters on too.

Hi guys. Posted a couple of times before for advice and letting you know how it had gone, but here's the whole thing now:
PPI reclaimed - Halifax credit card, for last 6 years, missold due to method of sales and not asking about pre-existing medical conditions
How long it's taken - about 2 weeks to 1st letter saying it was being investigated, another week to a 2nd letter saying as I was 'such a valued customer' I would be refunded an amount which would 'put me back in the position I would've been in had I never taken the PPI'.
Conclusion: In the 2nd letter they didn't confirm the amount, but said I would have a cheque within 30 days. Well we're now at about day 20 and I just couldn't wait anymore so I rang them - I will have the cheque by the deadline still, but the Customer Relations lady happily confirmed the amount... £3260.07 - WOOHOO!
This is a MASSIVE help to me, as I am 14k in debt, so I will use 800 of this to finish building the new PC I am desperate for and buy a new camera for my photography study, then the rest will get taken off the debt. I can't believe 1 letter is making me £3k+!! Thanks so much for your help people, wouldn't have done it without Martin and yourselves...
Have also requested a list of late charges from same halifax credit card, which I got a couple of days ago, think I can claim an extra £100 there, and have also been paying PPI on another CC (MBNA), which will be nowhere near as much as the Halifax CC, but I'm not claiming that until I've cleared the balance, and finally have sent letter to Ikano RE Oasis store card late charges, awaiting response...
(A bit off topic, but also just opening the First Direct current account which pays £100 to open, and anoither £100 if you're not happy and leave within 6 months. Speaking to First Direct about another matter today I found out they also have a creditcard, once you've been a member for 2 or 3 months, that has 5.1% balance transfer for 5 years and minimum credit limit of £3k, so going to do that to cover as much of debt as possible and take loan at 8.1% to cover remainder (instead of taking loan for full amount. Must be a good week for money!!Debt at 'ephiphany': £13,500 (March 1st)
Money made from ebay 2009: £130 (£600 2008)
Money made so far in 2009 from Mystery Shopping: £0 (£200 2008)
***1st March 2009 - begun claims from Halifax, Capital One and Arcadia RE unfair charges and missold PPI... Fingers crossed!!0 -
Well done on your claim and goodluck with the others.DS1 12/10/04

Am so pleased for you well done.:mad:0 -
I recently claimed back PPI for a personal loan which I had with Alliance and Leicester. Sent your template letter, and waited around three weeks for reply to say that matter was being looked into. Further letter came around three weeks later to say it was taking longer than expected to deal with, but that it was receiving attention. On Friday 3 April letter arrived to say that I would get full refund of all the insurance premiums paid, plus 8% interest! Couldn't believe it and read letter twice. It was so easy; thank you very much. I would never have thought to try it!!
Hi CME, this didn't take long then ?:T
Congratulations and well done to you.:T:beer:The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
