    Hi,
After getting all my information from this site (which I am totally addicted to now!!) we have successfully claimed from Egg for mis-selling PPI to my husband on a loan.
After reading this site, I realised this was wrong and that he wouldn't have been fully covered as he is Diabetic and plus pays insurance through his union for this kind of cover. (hel of a lot cheaper too) Plus they told him he had to have it.

Saturday, after 7 weeks from writing the first letter we received a cheques and letter from Egg by recorded delivery.
Cheque for £2482-55!!!!!! including interest accrued.
We cant believe it - I knew we had a strong case but my husband was always pessimistic, and even though I have shown him stuff on here, he always thought that no one could win against the banks!!!! He's like a kid at Christmas and just kept on beaming saying "I cant believe I'm holding a cheque for 2 and half grand"
This will go along way to getting us sorted.:T
Next tackle is Natwest - £17000 loan, specifically said we didnt want PPI and after a random question when we were complaining about a charge - what do we find out - it was added to the loan!!!!!!!!!!!
Am really really angry about this - we took out the loan in 2006 and since then everything went downhill with our finances and we really struggled and asked for help many a time always met with a no. In fact they actually cancelled some direct debits when things were really bad and one of them was mortgage protection insurance - NO MENTION OF PPI WITH THEM OR "SHOULD WE CANCEL OUR LOAN PPI TO"

Just a quick question - We reckon were payiong around £50pm. After going through statements online - since taking loan we have paid around £2000 in charges. MAJORITY OF THESE charges would not have occured if we had that extra £50 in our bank - do you think we have a case for claiming them back???? Prob wont qualifiy for hardship as we have been ok for the past 2 months now and getting better.

OK, essay over - but just want to say - I love this site, it is a minefield of information that can really really help people achieve a better life.

    Many thanks

    Sue
:T:Tthats really good news, well done:T:T:T:T:T

I recently claimed back PPI for a personal loan which I had with Alliance and Leicester. Sent your template letter, and waited around three weeks for reply to say that matter was being looked into. Further letter came around three weeks later to say it was taking longer than expected to deal with, but that it was receiving attention. On Friday 3 April letter arrived to say that I would get full refund of all the insurance premiums paid, plus 8% interest! Couldn't believe it and read letter twice. It was so easy; thank you very much. I would never have thought to try it!!

Hoping someone can please help me, i am single parent with a monthly income of 1000.00 welcome finance repayments are 200.00 a month and after other bills etc am left with nothing after pay day. can i cancel ppi on my welcome loan and claim back already paid or do i have to just do the claim, cant actually find my agreement but have just emailed them for a replacememnt and if memory serves me right about 70.00 of the 200.00 is ppi

Also is it possible to reduce these payments in any way they are taking the money from my debit card - with my permission - each month as i got fed up of numerous calls house visits and letters from just missing one payment

Hun, you need to read Martins guide to reclaiming & look to see how you were mis sold your PPI - Had you already got a health condition, did they not tell you you could get cover independantly etc. When you get your paperwork from Welcome look to see if the PPI was front loaded - was it added to your original loan amount at the start of the loan as this has been frowned on by FOS.

When you have decided how you were mis sold use the template letter as a guide & in your own words tell them how you feel you were mis sold & would like your PPI back, give them eight weeks & if you don't get a favourable reply complain to FOS.

When this is settled hun, you will have to restructure your loan without the PPI, so this may be the time to reorganise your repayments, you may be better off shopping around for a better deal elsewhere, but see what they can offer you first.

Hun if you need any more help there is always someone around to ask.
