We took out a loan with Nemo finance in 2006 and were encouraged to tkae out the PPI protection. When we were able to add this amount to our mortgage after 18 months we contactted nemo to pay it all off and were told from the original £8200 we had paid for ppi upfront we were only entitled to £1100 back which we thought was digusting!!! We complained to Nemo but they dismissed our claim so we sent it to the Financial Ombudsman. After over a year the FOS finally allocated our complaint to a adjudicator. He looked through it all and decided that we had been missold the policy - it ould cost us £19000 in total and the most they would ever have repaid to us in claims was £10000!!! He advised that they refund us in full. On Saturday we received a letter saying Nemo has agreed to repay us in full - we spoke to our adjudicator this morning and he says it will be roughly £9000. We are soo pleased that after all this time we have got a good result from this!!! I hope it encourages others to claim back their money!!!!!0

Had a £35k loan over 96 months at £372/month, half way through my term now at £17k.
Sent the template letter to HSBC, 8 weeks later after 3 letters from them - I've had success:
- cheque for £5k on its way
- loan now down to 11k (13k inc interest)
- repayments now £288

Hi all
Just thought i would let you know about my progress (if you can call it that)
Letter sent to HSBC on 10th February - after a few phone calls, i have found out today that they will not uphold my complaint about mis-sold ppi as they reckon I have signed something to say that they advised me not to take out the ppi!!! a bit riduculous really.... if they advised me not to, i wouldn't have done!!!!!!! another letter will be on its way to them as soon as i have received their response.
Letter sent to HFC on 18th February - final response from them by phone (letter on its way) stating that this complaint will not be upheld as i signed the agreement in July 2000, although they have now cancelled the ppi. Again, another letter will be on its way as soon as i have had sight of this.
I had a horrible feeling that neither of them would play ball...... its time to get tough :mad::mad:
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!!!
Thanks all :A0 -

Hi hun
Sorry to hear this news, but keep your chin up, they have fobbed you off, I would now take this to the Financial ombudsman service (FOS), if this was the final response they should have let you know if you could do this, but if not contact the FOS anyway hun, you can ring them for a complaints form or download one from their site here:
http://www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk/consumer/complaints.htm
I would also get some copies of the form done after completion and send a copy to them, to make them aware you have now moved this on to the FOS for them to investigate this case for you.
(It may make them change their minds, but don't bank on it), if they do suddenly do this in your favour, let the FOS know while your complaint is with them.
Also enclose a copy of the letter you received to send to the FOS.
Good luck hun and if you need any further help, just give us a yell.;)

Hi There
Please do not be put off. Ask them to send you copies of all paperwork that they have. If they advised ou not to have it (or so they say) why did they sell it then. Make sure that you get their FINAL RESPONSE before taking to the FOS.
Usual old claptrap. Glad you sending 2nd letter soon. Good Luck to you.:D:mad:0
