Hi folks,
By way of an update, I haven't as yet spoken to the FSO about my rejected complaint, I've been hanging on to see what happened with my Loan complaint....
Exactly 4 weeks since the initial complaint I received a letter from Egg stating they were still investigating, and they would contact me in another 4 weeks if they had not resolved my issue.
Today, I received another letter from Egg. The first thing I saw was a brochure for the Ombudsman, not a good sign! Then, a cheque!!!!! The letter states they have investigated, and have agreed to pay £1370.49 plus an additional £468.72 in Interest!!!!
I'm obviously over the moon, but I am now going to go to the Ombudsman as the credit card's protection was sold in exactly the same way!!!!
Thanks to all for the words of encouragment!!!
Tony

Having used your template letter and adapting it to suit my claim information, I posted it to Barclays, they dutifully replied advising me of a date that they would respond to me by, which they did and again advised me that they required extra time to investigate giving me another deadline time.
Prior to this deadline time by one week I am now in receipt of a letter from Barclays stating that they agree to the insurance being miss sold and have made the following offer - They will make a full refund of the insurance premium £18,367.50 plus interest paid on the premium to date of £6,925.98 plus there will also receive a refund of the part of our monthly payments paid to the insurance policy of £8,915.48. So a total of just over £34,200, as a result of this I have now joined your web site to keep up dated of future advice. Once again many thanks and all for the price of one first class stamp.

Hi
Some great stories here !
I am just after some advice, I wrote to Black Horse for my father in law about a loan he took out (which he I had the original paperwork for). They have replied and agreed that the policy was mis sold and have offered approximately 6 months payments + interest. The original documentation shows that the total amount payable over the whole 5 year period. We think that the loan was re-assesed in the mean time, shall I write a letter and ask them to break down the payments actually made on the loan ? Any other help on how to proceed would be great ! Many Thanks0 -
