PPI Reclaiming successes and failures

Hi As far as I am aware this should not affect his credit score. Really hope you get all this sorted out am sure you will get the miss sold PPI back:D
Heard from Capital1 today. They are stating that he was not mis-sold. they say that he applied online and they do not give advice so he selected PPI and was sent all the papers and should have chekced all the details. They haven't quoted any dates or submitted any proof of this.
They say that all clients "Mis sold" have been contacted and he does not fall into this category.
The biggest slap in the face is that he asked in his letter to cancel it with immediate effect and they've told him in the letter to call a number! they have his authority in writing!! and yet they can't even manage that.
I am in no way going to give up. Do you think this is just delaying tactics again?
Barclaycard have sent a holding response saying we'll have a reply by the 27th April
arghh it makes me so mad. I've got nothing to loose though so keep on plodding!0 -

This is going as expected at the moment Do not be put off at this point. They usually go down this route because that stops most people from going further at this time.
Write again reiterating your complaint and ask them to send copies of all paperwork to back up what they are saying. Give them 14 days to reply. Send Recorded Delivery and tell them that if they do not respond in a positive manner to refund you all missold insurance you will take the case to the FOS.
Let us know how you get on.:D:mad:0 -

Hi all
I sent off a template letter to Halifax, had a reply from them saying i was mis-sold my ppi insurance and they will respond regarding the amount they will pay by the 30th March. Still haven't had a letter from them. Am I being inpatient or shall I send a second letter, or shall I just give them a little bit longer. Advice please. Thanks0 -

Hi Nat
You could try just giving them a ring and asking. Failing that send another letter to them. They may not send you a cheque but pay it directly into your account so just check that they have not done that.
Well done you for getting them to agree to refund:beer::mad:0 -
Thanks for reply. I don't have a current account with Halifax and also I still owe them this months payment, sorry forgot to mention that, so maybe they are waiting for me to pay that before they send any letters to me.0

:j Thanks to your site which I happened to be browsing through in January 2009 I noticed you had template letters for claiming miss sold Payment Protection Insurance and your site actually jogged my memory as to how our loan had been set up and that I had now cause to doubt its realiability to cover a claim regarding issues surrounding my health as I am a diabetic.
Having used your template letter and adapting it to suit my claim information, I posted it to Barclays, they dutifully replied advising me of a date that they would respond to me by, which they did and again advised me that they required extra time to investigate giving me another deadline time.
Prior to this deadline time by one week I am now in receipt of a letter from Barclays stating that they agree to the insurance being miss sold and have made the following offer - They will make a full refund of the insurance premium £18,367.50 plus interest paid on the premium to date of £6,925.98 plus there will also receive a refund of the part of our monthly payments paid to the insurance policy of £8,915.48. So a total of just over £34,200, as a result of this I have now joined your web site to keep up dated of future advice. Once again many thanks and all for the price of one first class stamp.

I think that's what I'm going to do, I was just taken aback by the response time!
After reading on this forum about people waiting in most cases 8 weeks, I get a response in 2 days!
I also sent in a claim for a loan I had, which they haven't written about yet.... At least it appears they are looking into that one!
Hi folks,
By way of an update, I haven't as yet spoken to the FSO about my rejected complaint, I've been hanging on to see what happened with my Loan complaint....
Exactly 4 weeks since the initial complaint I received a letter from Egg stating they were still investigating, and they would contact me in another 4 weeks if they had not resolved my issue.
Today, I received another letter from Egg. The first thing I saw was a brochure for the Ombudsman, not a good sign! Then, a cheque!!!!! The letter states they have investigated, and have agreed to pay £1370.49 plus an additional £468.72 in Interest!!!!
I'm obviously over the moon, but I am now going to go to the Ombudsman as the credit card's protection was sold in exactly the same way!!!!
Thanks to all for the words of encouragment!!!
