  • I have recently had a good result with reclaiming for PPI that was added to a loan that I took out 10 years ago.
I downloaded the template from your website for my letter and received an investigation form from Northern Rock which I duly completed and within 2 weeks they offered the full PPI element of the loan together with 8% interest totalling nearly £4K.

  • Hi, I've posted in another forum, and was suggested to try this forum, to see if anyone can give me some advice...

I really dont know what to do next, since 2007 we have been battling with Loans.co.uk to get £4000 ppi back and so far unsuccessfully.
The situation in short is, we took out a loan in 2003, explaining that we wanted to be able to pay off in full within a year and not be penalised. we paid in full 9 months later, and had to pay £4k more on top of what we borrowed, i disputed at the time the fact that ppi was never discussed with us and we would of declined it had we been given a choice. and basically hit a brick wall.
Then in 2007 we heard we could have a good case with companies mis selling ppi. we went back to loans but received the same response we had back when we initially disputed the ppi... so we contacted the financial ombudsmen back in oct 2007, as they have been in undated it took quite a while for them to review our case.. Finally last year we had the good news that the adjudicator agreed with us and that loans should pay us back the ppi plus any interest occured... however loans have the right to dispute the decision and did so... our case then went back into a queue for it to be re evaluted by a 2nd adjudicator. we have just had a letter back stating that the 2nd adjudicator says that as the loan was taken out in 2003 ad it wasn't regulated we do not have a case..... Can I go anywhere from here? it seems so unfair... Ive been looking at success stories and some of them are from 2003. I have found on the internet that loans.co.uk were fined £455,000 in 2006 for mis selling ppi's... we were so blatantly mis sold, and I just feel helpless, please can you let me know if there is anything that can be done.

    Appreciate any advice

    Many thanks

    Hi there

Thanks for posting here and sorry no-one has got back to you yet, but do you have any paperwork/documents, stating if these were regulated by GISC at all?

Sometimes these cases are accidentally thrown out if they believe they were not covered by any of these regulators.

(Pinknico, can't remember if it was you or someone else who had a case with loans.co.uk, do you know when these became regulated)?

Will get back to you on this when I find the answers, as I believe they were covered as from Jan 2005, but thought it was by GISC prior to when the FSA taken over in 2005.;)
