I have again received a letter from Barclays and they are still not yet in a position to provide me with a full response and i have to wait another month. so yet another month of money still being paid out.
Has anyone else had trouble with Barclays? I think they are hoping you will give up and go away.
Going to be sending my FOS letter now.
I will keep you informed yet again
Hi
I assume they have a back-log.
If they don't respond at all by 8 weeks, you can continue with the FOS then if you want to, but hopefully Barclays will get back with a good outcome for you, even if you have to wait a little longer, fingers crossed.
As you may be aware the FOS also have large volumes of these complaints, and it could take a while before they pass your case on.
Hope you hear soon with some good news.;)XThe one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Lender: Northern Rock
Amount: c£500
Method: 1 letter followed by questionnaire.
Time: c1 month
I was sold a loan by Northern Rock 3 years ago. When taking out the loan over the telephone I was told that, due to the size of the loan (c£20k), I needed PPI in order to be granted the credit and the promotional rate. I told the salesperson on the telephone that I did not want it and did not consider it neccesary. They insisted that I needed it and at no time did they tell me that it was possible to get PPI independantly. In the end I reluctantly agreed to take the lowest possible cover which was their "bronze" product, covering my repayments in the event of my death. This cost c£500. Having heard Martin on the radio I visited this site and, using his standard template letter, wrote to Northern Rock. I changed little of the template and included as my reason the statement that I was made to believe that I would not get the associated credit if I did not take out the PPI. I received a reply after c2 weeks with a questionnaire asking for details of the loan, the PPI, the amounts involved and also my reason for beleiving that I had been mis-sold. I returned this and another 2 weeks later I received a letter from Northern Rock stating that, although they have signed documents from me and nothing to indicate that I had been mis-sold, as a gesture of goodwill they will be refunding the premiums paid + 8% interest. I have sent back a reponse to say that I agree and once they receive this they will create a new loan agreement which will be at the same rate and for the same term as the original agreement, the only difference will be the absence of the PPI.
I am delighted and would like to say thanks to all who have posted here as you spurred me into action!
Well done to you, Congratulations, brilliant news.:T

I wrote to direct line / rbs requesting PPI insurance to be refunded as the advisor made out I could only get a loan if I took this out etc. They agreed to give me £750 as a goodwill gesture but claim they were not at fault - not going to complain and accepted especially the way RBS are at the moment. Wrote to direct line requesting PPI to be removed from the remainder of my term (12 months) and they have written to me and it seems my monthly payments would have increased by £60 a month!!! not a happy bunny0
