  • Hi all

Just had my go away letter from HSBC

As they said, they do have something that has my signature on it that says that the bank advised me not to take the ppi on my loan. it also states that i already had adequate cover in place for it (which i didnt). what i cant understand is why they got me to sign this bit of paper (that i promise that i did not knowingly sign this document - signature looks like it has been scanned, so i might question the authenticity of it by asking to see the wet ink copy)

    Hi Sarah

They are fobbing you off by the looks of it, don't give up and if that was the first response, get back to them, put them right.

If that was the final response, did they suggest the FOS?

i wrote off to burtons and topman to ask them to refund all the ppi i had paid for. topman paid up after 1 letter- £120.
however, burtons are saying that they didnt mis-sell it to me and that, after 2 letters they were doing no more.
they said also that the FOS has no jurisdiction over them.
    what should i do now?

Well done on your Topman's case,:T:beer:.

Its always the blinking same, when they were not regulated, they fob off  its as if they believe you have no direction to take this, but other than that, speak to the CAB, see if they can suggest anything on this actual case.
I would say check with the FLA (Financial leasing association), you cannot guarantee they help, but maybe it could be worth you contacting them to see if they can.

    Good luck.;)X

The family are all fine. Baby went home last week, now weighs 4lbs 12oz! Doing really well though, thank God! Grandsons at their Dad's for a few days so no babysitting this weekend. What on earth will I do with myself??!!!!!! Hope you're well. It's lovely to see your posts. You're always so encouraging! As are all the other amazing people on this site! I'd probably never have gone for this reclaiming had I not read of so many successes. Now I can happily count myself amongst them!!! Brilliant. This Loans.co.uk one though will really be a cause for celebration if I ever hear from them!!!!!

I wrote to direct line / rbs requesting PPI insurance to be refunded as the advisor made out I could only get a loan if I took this out etc. They agreed to give me £750 as a goodwill gesture but claim they were not at fault - not going to complain and accepted especially the way RBS are at the moment. Wrote to direct line requesting PPI to be removed from the remainder of my term (12 months) and they have written to me and it seems my monthly payments would have increased by £60 a month!!! not a happy bunny
what a fob off- dont accept a good will gesture and not from the bank of the public, please fight this and get what is rightfully yours, why would they give you a goodwill gesture? to hope you go away, so dont give them the satisfaction, please keep us posted, they know they are at fault so you go for it
